24.01.2022 New project coming along well.

23.01.2022 Almost done on a basic 15c breastplate, just started on the faulds.

23.01.2022 This has been a side project for some time, I finished it a few weeks ago. I managed to forget to take it to Sydney with me so it hasn't made it to its new home just yet but will get there in a couple of weeks! Pics of it in action after that.

18.01.2022 Finally got around to heat treating the shoulders. Just a quick clean up and strapping left to go.

18.01.2022 The breast plate found it's way to its new home and is fitting nicely.

17.01.2022 I have been busy and not been on the workshop much but I have managed a few projects over the past few months. I recently finished a fun project, a plume holder for Jousting. Based on the ones in this painting. I didn't manage to find any extant examples or better quality depictions of them so there is a certain amount of guesswork involved.... Quite happy with how it turned out. It is still to be finished off with the feathers by its new owner so I will try to put some pics of it completed at some point.

15.01.2022 Breastplate done.

14.01.2022 Prototype basket hilt for SCA combat. It's a nice purple and gold colour from the tempering, will polish back to white when it gets a bit scratched up. Works well and is solid. Will try a couple of changes on the next one to try to simplify construction.... 1.2mm heat treated 4130. Weighs 550g. My old (heavy) welded bar hilt is 750g and the plastic ones are 300g Weight is pretty good, can make it heavier with thicker steel or can drop a guage to go a bit lighter.

12.01.2022 I decided I liked the roses I made for the crest so I made a slightly smaller version as a necklace for my daughter.

09.01.2022 Sallet coming along nicely. I like the lines on this one!

06.01.2022 Small pendant based on a 15 C piece. This one is brass, same method of production as for a full size steel one. A nice, relatively quick project. I think I may make a few more!

04.01.2022 Starting new projects while waiting to put the finishing touches on the last one.

02.01.2022 Happy with the progress on this one. Just finishing to go, trimming the bottom edge, planishing, cutting the occula, polishing and turning the edge to go. 2.5mm mild steel
