20.01.2022 So I thought I'd add a few Wicking Beds at home (google this if you haven't heard of it). This was one day's work, next we have a couple of hundred perennial plants to get into the ground. If you are after a veggie or herb bed, Wicking Beds are a great idea.

19.01.2022 Who can spot the difference in these two images? Okay, so it is the small grill in the top pond. You see, every night the fish in the top pond would go water sl...iding down to the lower pond. So, we had to add a grill to keep them up top, which saved the client from scooping out the fish every morning! See more

11.01.2022 I like to make garden landscapes that seamlessly connect with the architecture of the house. 06.01.2022 I never had a vegetable other than potatoes until I was 24. I wasn’t born with a green thumb, either. In fact, the earliest instance I ever dabbled in gardening was when I kept a tomato plant when I was young. Growing up, I didn’t know what I wanted to do and went around different fields just trying to find my niche. Now, 30 years into the professional gardening business, and I finally realized that gardening was in my blood all along. Come see my work at https://www.thelandscapingnarrative.com.au/

03.01.2022 I wanted to be a draftsman when I was younger. I enjoyed drawing and designing things. But this dream was quickly shut down when I was told I wasn’t smart enough; and I ended up working as a turner in a factory. As I grew older, I ventured into other things. I was into aerospace engineering, at some point I worked at Rolls Royce enginesand I was really just wandering, looking for my niche. Looking back, I was never into gardening or landscaping. I didn’t even even eat vegetables other than potatoes. But, my grandfather did have a garden. And he enjoyed the plants as much as he did selling vegetables and serving the community. Now, I just realized I’ve come to a full circle as a professional landscaper. See my work at https://www.thelandscapingnarrative.com.au/

01.01.2022 A common question clients have is, "Okay, so I know basically what I want but how do I know the designer I engage won't run off creatively to a design I feel committed to but doesn't really fulfill my needs. How do I manage this?" - really important question and believe me I have seen it and on occasion have dropped the ball and been guilty of it! The key here is in the time spent BEFORE you engage the designer. Doing a little research to define exactly what you want is vita...lly important, and that includes what you don't want. Then, when you do engage a designer, you go over these 'needs & wants' or wish list as some call it, and a good designer will help you refine this list and enhance it. So using Pinterest and collecting images of what you want is a great way to start. then the secret to success her also lies in culling the 500 images down to 50 or so, otherwise you'll overwhelm the designer and it becomes less useful. Any other research ideas anyone else has, feel free to add here? See more
