12.01.2022 New funding for Australias Waste Processing Capacity. In an announcement today the Federal and State Governments and Recycling Industry are set to invest over $600 million into a waste recycling stimulus scheme to sort, process and recycle materials after the Council of Australian Government (COAG) announced in 2019 that they would ban exports of unprocessed waste in 2024. Up to 10,000 jobs are expected to be generated with the building of processing plants and the additional staff required to operate them once completed. A new Commonwealth Recycling Modernisation Fund is set to move Australias recycling industry into fast motion with a contribution of $190 million. The Federal and State Governments will contribute $190 million each and about $200 million will come from the recycling industry.

01.01.2022 A large milk processer in Queensland requested a system to separate Out of date milk products from the recyclable containers to be in a position to sell the milk to livestock producers and sell the recyclable containers to a plastic recycling company. Waste Initiatives supplied a system that would shred the full containers while releasing the milk draining it into a stainless steel receival tank below.
