21.01.2022 Last week, we held our annual Footy Colours Day to raise funds for research into childhood cancer. It was a great success, with so many parents and community members joining us for a morning full of fun. Thank you to Mrs Steere for organising this fabulous event.
20.01.2022 This week is Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. To acknowledge and recognise how amazing our EAs are, we held a special morning tea for Mrs Brown and Miss Donaldson. We just wanted to say we APPR-EA-CIATE you and think you are both a fabulous asset to our school!

19.01.2022 Wow, I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the work that has been produced by our students today. It was our first official day of distance education and by 4pm, we had a staggering 222 pieces of work uploaded to Seesaw!! Thank you to our students and parents for all of your hard work. I am sure everyone will sleep well tonight!
19.01.2022 YEAR 5/6 CAMP So far, we’ve had two fantastic days on camp. We have been orienteering, had a go at archery, showed off our talents for the talent night, did some team game challenges, went on the flying fox and competed in ‘minute to win it’. A lot of us also conquered our fears on the leap of faith today, which was a highlight for all. It’s been heart-warming to see the positivity and resilience within our students so far.
18.01.2022 Last week, our Student Councillors held an ugly dress up day to raise funds for the World Health Organisation. We loved seeing the different interpretations of ugly clothes, which led to some good lessons about judging people by their looks. Well done to our Student Councillors and Bron on a successful fundraiser.
18.01.2022 Congratulations to our Merit Certificate winners!
17.01.2022 Join our P&C for a fantastic evening!

16.01.2022 Did you see us on the news last night? If you missed it, you can see Mia, Sarah and Lucy on YouTube at about the 10 minute 45 second mark. Dont forget to watch GWN7 every Tuesday for our Weather Wall update. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1iuTkY1FJUs
15.01.2022 Assemblies have taken on a new look this term. Congratulations to our Merit Certificate winners in Room 9.

14.01.2022 This term, Room 4 have been learning about Community Helpers and the jobs they do. We were very lucky to have both the police and fire brigade visit us and answer all our questions. We especially enjoyed the lights and sirens!
14.01.2022 Unfortunately, the decision has been made to cancel the interschool swimming carnival for today. All Principals, the WPS Sports Delegates and Pippa spoke this morning and decided the safety of our students is paramount and there are too many storm cells around. We know this will be an inconvenience and apologise. You will be notified later today of the postponed plans. Sands bus service will run, however all stops will be approximately 15 minutes later this morning.
13.01.2022 Today, we aimed to bring some fun and laughter to our students at lunch by playing water games. We worked on our team work skills, communication and gross motor skills. The biggest thing we learnt was that Mrs Angwin is a giant kid and does not listen to instructions!
12.01.2022 We made it!! It has been a demanding, yet rewarding term and I think we can safely say that everyone is very much looking forward to a holiday. We hope you all have a safe and relaxing holiday. Student reports were emailed today, Friday 3rd July. The report will be downloaded when you click on the link. This report will ONLY remain available for four weeks from the date sent and therefore it is essential that you download the file as soon as possible.
12.01.2022 Dear Parents, We are beginning to utilise email more to communicate with you throughout this time. You should have received two emails yesterday. Can you please check your email and reply if you have not done so. If you have not received an email please contact the office to ensure we have your correct details. Thank you
12.01.2022 Our last full day of camp saw us make our own boomerangs and damper before completing the high ropes course. Mrs Groves even had a go and made the leap of faith! We also said thank you and goodbye to Mr Siviour and Mr Cooper, but not before they ambushed the students with water pistols!
10.01.2022 Today, the early childhood students worked on their fine motor skills by following a guided art tutorial to create Easter bunnies. We then uploaded their drawings in the Chatterkid app to make their bunnies come alive with their own voices

10.01.2022 A reminder from our Student Leaders. As per the newsletter last week, orders are due today for hot dogs next Tuesday.
08.01.2022 To celebrate the (almost) end of term, we had a few staff versus student netball games in an extended lunch break today. Staff were victorious against Rooms 9 and 3, and drew against Room 8 Whilst it was a great deal of fun, we also learnt a couple of things from our game today; it is important to be a Resilient Rosie when playing sport, we always need to be a Ready Ruby by watching the ball and Mrs Groves and Mrs Angwin are way too competitive in games against children! A special mention must go to Hunter and Harvey, who had exceptional shooting skills! Well done to everyone involved.
07.01.2022 Abseiling and rock climbing were the highlights of camp today, whereas the bush bike ride wasn’t everyone’s favourite activity. We did all persevere and finish the activity relatively unscathed, except for Mrs Groves’ ears after having to listen to all the whinging about how sore their legs were after riding for 3 minutes!

05.01.2022 Self-isolation wont stop our students having an egg-cellent Easter! Wishing all of our students, parents and community a fantastic Easter break. We hope the Easter bunny is kind to you all and your eggs dont melt in this weather. Stay safe over the break.
05.01.2022 Congratulations to all of our students on their participation at our interschool swimming carnival yesterday. Well done to every student who tried their hardest and were always ready, respectful, resilient and safe. A very big thank you to all of our parents who volunteered and assisted in the day running so smoothly. Thank you also to Jess Joldescu for her photography skills - we cant wait to see the rest of the photos!
05.01.2022 We had an absolute ball at our Scitech incursion today. There were so many fun and interesting aspects, however one of the biggest surprises was seeing a John Deere being used in an experiment about gravity!
