17.01.2022 GOOD NEWS FOR BAUPLE: Work is underway to replace the failed Boar Creek Bridge on Forestry Road. Local residents and truck drivers will soon be able to avoid a... 40 minute detour journey, with construction expected to be completed by January 2020. The new bridge will also upgrade the load capacity to 60 tonnes, boosting freight access for timber and sugar cane crops transported to Maryborough and Gympie. The project was jointly funded by the Federal Government and Council through the Bridges Renewal Program.

09.01.2022 Three water main replacement projects in the Hervey Bay CBD will reduce leaks and cater for increased demand for water. Local company SGQ has been awarded the $...987,000 contract. To minimise impact, work on the 440 metre section from Main Street to Hunter Street will be undertaken at night, starting on Monday, October 21. A 460 metre section in Charles Street (Old Maryborough Road to Watson Street) is scheduled to start on January 5. Work on the 550 metre section of Torquay Road (Queens Road towards Denmans Camp Road) will start on November 4. It will be followed by a $2.7 million project to rebuild a 700m section of Torquay Road, (from Queens towards Denman Camp Road), in January. 08.01.2022 Finishing touches were made on the pedestrian crossing upgrade at Torquay yesterday. The works included construction of blister islands and a ‘link’ path to the... existing mobility path on the Esplanade. As well as an upgrade of the lighting, line marking and signage to make the area safer for pedestrians.
