22.01.2022 This will be in place for sometime. Resilience needs to be shown. It is important clubs educate parents about closed events. We have already had parents contacting clubs and committee complaining about these new expectations. This is not changing and no special considerations will be given. It is up to the clubs to decide their team managers not the club hosting the event. WE WANT KIDS TO SWIM!

19.01.2022 CALLING ALL PARENTS & SPECTATORS Just like all parents and guardians, we really wish that all swimming meets were able to be run the way we’ve always known them... to. However, this ‘new normal’ (under COVID-19 restrictions) does result in having to hold all meets as ‘closed events’, following physical distancing measures, venue capacities and contact tracing guidelines for the foreseeable future. Based upon each venue, physical distancing requirements will mean that you will be assigned a defined spectator area which may not always be exactly where you’d like to sit to catch the action in the pool. Despite these obstacles, we are grateful of being able to resume swimming meets under these ‘new normal’ circumstances and give Queensland swimmers the opportunity to once again compete and enjoy racing! We sincerely thank you for your support and understanding during this challenging time and hope that you join us in our excitement for the upcoming meets scheduled.

11.01.2022 Further to the communication issued Friday, 15 May 2020, the Queensland Government have confirmed that: Stage 1 restrictions are intended to allow informal uns...tructured physical activity and training. Community sport (including the organised return of club training) is not scheduled to return until Stage 2. The Queensland Government have established a 'Return to Play' website which features a guidebook, fact sheets, frequently asked questions and a checklist for our industry so that our clubs and members have the latest information. An exemption exists for primary and secondary schools in relation to swimming pools as per the 'Non-Essential Business, Activity and Undertaking Closure Direction (No. 10)'. Swimming Queensland asks that clubs refer to all relevant guidelines when determining when and how your club might resume its activities. Swimming Queensland does not require you to submit a plan, checklist or other in relation to your club’s resumption. Further information relating to our 20/21 season, including club affiliation and member registrations will be provided in coming weeks. For now, club affiliations and membership registrations from the 19/20 season will be recognised until 30 September 2020.
