22.01.2022 Today the Ladybugs celebrated friendship day and had a great day with there friends!

21.01.2022 This Friday the 14th of August is Red Nose Day. In Australia, nine children still die suddenly and unexpectedly every day. Thats more than 3,000 babies, toddlers and preschoolers every year more than double the national road toll. So while incredible gains have been made to reduce sudden infant deaths since the first Red Nose Day in 1988, the fight must continue.... And we still need your help. We will be raising money for Red Nose Day throughout this week. We have Pens for sale for $5 each and Noses for $3 so please see a staff member to purchase. Thanks for your support!

21.01.2022 FRIENDSHIP DAY at school. Friends - Ill be there for you.

21.01.2022 FRIDAY 4th September (This Friday) Lets wear our favourite footy colours.

We will be having lots of fun activities out and keeping cool! Please let the staff know if you don't want your child participating or getting wet.

18.01.2022 We would like to thank all of our families for helping us to keep our service COVID safe over the last few months and appreciate all of your support and patience during this time. It is especially appreciated during drop off and pick up times where it can get quite busy. We would love it if you could please give us your feedback in having families return to the service. We are considering one of the following three options:... 1) Returning access to normal but with sanitising still a priority and excluding those that are experiencing any flu-like symptoms including sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness of breath, fever. 2) Returning access but asking parents to remain in the outdoor areas only and not entering the classrooms. 3) Keeping things as they are now until 2021 and reevaluating in January. The safety of everyone is paramount to us so thank you for your support

18.01.2022 Making our own fruit skewers. We enjoyed so much fresh fruit today just in a different way, which was enjoyed by all. And according to the butterflies we had everything that is healthy for our bodies.

18.01.2022 Some of this weeks experiences. Science week so far has had us explore change; making new colours on paper towel and them talk about how they got new colours, making play dough adding and changing ingredients and then enjoying this months fruit of the month Banana in a different way- at the request of many we made smoothies that they really enjoyed.

18.01.2022 We will be having some special visitors arrive tomorrow!

17.01.2022 A little bit of excitement. We caught one starting to hatch.

16.01.2022 The Pear in the Pear Tree was a story we read and then the Butterflies recounted the story through their drawings, some doing it free hand and some using the book pages as a guide to help them create their master piece. We have been really proud of them transferring the story into their own words through creative ways of drawing, it has allowed their drawing skills to grow and they then show us how proud of their work they are and those smiles and stories to go with them are fantastic. This table becomes about the story, they ask each other for help, they seek guidance from their peers, the communication and excitement of end results are helping them show better understanding for books

16.01.2022 Hope all our Dads, pops, grandpas have had a great day.

15.01.2022 A science experiment with a little excitement.

15.01.2022 What’s happening in November

15.01.2022 The StEPS program is a NSW Ministry of Health (MOH) funded free Visual Acuity vision screening program which offers a Visual Acuity screen to all four year old children or 5 year old children (not previously screened at 4 years at preschool) across the state of NSW. The MOH strongly recommends that all children have their vision screened before they commence school. The childs vision screening is performed by trained vision screeners employed in the StEPS program by Local He...alth Districts. A large percentage of four year old children are accessed and have their vision screened through the Preschool and Child Care Centres they attend prior to commencing school. However, due to restrictions put in place as a result of COVID-19, some child care centres and preschools may not be able to have this visit. To find out more about the StEPS Program visit their website: http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/kidsfamilies//Pages/StEPS.aspx Please contact us on 4730 5100 if you would like to book your 4 year old in for free vision screening. 15.01.2022 This month we will be teaching the children about the importance of keeping the marine clean! We will be discussing the effects that pollution has on on our environment and why it is so important to keep our waterways clean. We would love your help to also foster this at home and have discussions with your child around this. Please share photos with us of any idea you may have!

15.01.2022 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Childrens day. Kind words from Kathryn to her friends We are all different yet we are all the same. A simple daily acknowledgement that the butterflies do each day. Hello land... Hello sky Hello me Hello friends. See more

15.01.2022 Today is a special day where we come together as a community to celebrate what the Childrens Medical Research Institute has done to diagnose, understand, and find cures or treatments for conditions affecting kids, including genetic diseases, cancer, and epilepsy. The Ladybugs celebrated this by using some paint and glitter and glitter glue to decorate their own jeans for Jeans for genes day. We had a ball participating in this as we squirted glitter glue all over the jeans and painted beautiful patterns using a variety of colours and painting tools. When we finished we looked back at our Jeans feeling very proud of our work and thankful for the research team that continues to help these children.

14.01.2022 Dont forget your beanies today... Beanies for Brain CancerDont forget your beanies today... Beanies for Brain Cancer

14.01.2022 Lunch Box Week. Thanks for all the yummy lunch boxes we are getting to see. The healthy snacks have been great.

13.01.2022 The Magic Show 15.12.20

13.01.2022 Something to encourage children to draw is to start with giving them somewhere to start. We gave them the chance to watch an old favourite of Mr Squiggle via technology and then have a turn of being their very own mr squiggle and the butterflies embraced this with such excitement and have continued to test each other out with drawing lines and shapes and getting their peers to turn it into something. We had a elephant be created, a bike with a basket of groceries, a rocket. Whiteboards are a good way to allow children to make mistakes, rub it out and try again without the panic of it not being right. Good stocking filler for Christmas

13.01.2022 FOOTY COLOURS DAY Go the Eels Go the Bunnies Go the Panthers

12.01.2022 The beginning of Christmas Week. No Christmas Party this week but we have been doing things in the Christmas spirit, loads of craft and singing along to Christmas music. An event at Wiggles always has a great photo booth. Look forward to taking some more pictures throughout the week. Say cheese. Plus our elf is now out of quarantine so we need to be on the look out to find him.

11.01.2022 Thanks to Heidi today for bringing in a game of memory for us to enjoy, this lead us to enjoy many other simple games in our room today. Turn taking and supporting their peers through these games was something that the educators enjoyed being a part of.

10.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK 2020 so far. Always Was, Always Will Be We tried something different and decorated some lovely home made cookies using Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island provocations to help guide our art design we made. Both the Caterpillars and Butterflies then enjoyed eating them, some of them and the ladybugs got to take them home.

09.01.2022 Today the Ladybugs celebrated Red Nose Day and had such a great day. Have a great weekend everyone!

09.01.2022 Following on from Book Week the Butterflies have been working on some project based learning and extending on what the books are about and some recounting parts of the story through their art and drawings. With this being an interest in our room we are excited the interest in books is helping their literary learning grow and can’t wait to see what they produce in the future. Today we enjoyed a story called Possum Magic and then enjoyed a yummy afternoon tea that involved tasting all the yummy treats that Grandma poss got Hush to try to help him become visible again. Firstly starting off with making Pumpkin Scones which we enjoyed in Brisbane, Anzac biscuits in Adelaide, Minties in Melbourne and from the far north of Australia we ate Vegemite sandwiches.

08.01.2022 Lets help the girls with a pallet project. Share your ideas for inspiration.

08.01.2022 NATIONAL tree day. We explored the soil, the little trees. The Ladybugs, Caterpillars and Butterflies all this year planted at tree for inside that we can take care of in our rooms. We all had our green thumbs working today as we added more little plants to the yard and enjoyed watering all the gardens. National tree day is Sunday for home, so a quick trip to Bunnings or Flower power to get something small you can plant as a family. We would love to see what you get up to at home.

08.01.2022 Experimenting in the Butterflies Room as been at the request from the children. Can you do another one, what can we do next. In hope that this would work and that it did, the butterflies and the educators were so excited to see the tea bag fly( rocket take off). ( yes we used almost 10 tea bags) they wanted to see it over and over again.

07.01.2022 For Munch and Move this month we have been testing out Mandarin. Today the Ladybugs, made cupcakes with Mandarin and enjoyed mixing and tasting all of the ingredients!

07.01.2022 The Caterpillars have explored, experimented and discovered many things through science week; including the use of bi carb and vinegar, milk and food colouring and the magic of the dancing man. Lots of hands on learning for them this week that allowed them to ask questions, try new things and use trial and error.

06.01.2022 LUNCH BOX WEEK for the Butterflies. Thanks to those for remembering to send a lunch box today. They enjoyed their sandwiches made by Cookie and then their healthy snacks. We did well unwrapping the glad wrap and opening up our snacks containers. Look forward to seeing what’s in tomorrow’s lunch boxes.

06.01.2022 Exploring tadpoles. Both the caterpillars and butterflies have investigated the tadpole eggs (spawn)and live tadpoles. Thanks Bodhi for sharing these with the children. We went from a live frog backwards to wear the frog came from.
