16.01.2022 Due to popular demand, the Wilbinga Shacks Crew in collaboration with Parks and Wildlife (DBCA) have decided to get a cleanup done of the Wilbinga Conservation ...Park before the end of the year. The date set for this event is for the 24th of October and yes, we know, it is short notice. More information can be obtained from our webpage from this link... http://www.wilbingashackscrew.com.au/2020-cleanup Be great to see a few out there on the day to lend a hand to keep this part of our coast open to responsible access. Please feel free to share this event. See more

15.01.2022 On another note, please understand that this Facebook page is not manned 24/7. We are getting notifications of some people bogged out there on the beach with the tide coming in fast. Panic stations obviously. Firstly, commiserations to those stuck for hours and us not getting back to you early enough via this page. This group page is not meant to be a 4x4 recovery page; it is simply to provide important information that will help keep Wilbinga open for now and into the fut...ure. We don’t normally advertise here but we believe that it’s worth letting everyone know that the best way of getting help to recover a vehicle off the beach is to get in touch with one of our senior Shacks Crew guys that runs Westcoast 4x4 Recoveries. Seriously, like most, we’d rather be fishing than spend good quality fishing time recovering you ;-) If there is an issue of personal safety, we will render assistance if we are nearby. 14.01.2022 Ok guys, again, and again and again I will say, for those that deliberately challenge the integrity of the Shacks Crew and what they (and I being a senior Shacks Crew volunteer - Geoff Couper) are trying to achieve in maintaining access to responsible and sustainable outdoor recreation (not being a DICKHEAD), being that they want to be part of the problem of inevitably causing forced closures by partaking in illegal activities, undoing all our good deeds so to speak... will absolutely be deleted from this site. I make no excuses in moderating dimwits. There will be NO tolerance.

13.01.2022 To all the newbies that have joined of recent times, so you all know the Shacks Crew is not a club, no one is a member of anything here.

04.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT! There has been a joint amicable decision made from all the key stakeholders which include us, Keep Australia Beautiful WA, Parks and Wildlife Swan Coastal and DBCA to postpone the 2020 cleanup effort to 2021 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. We are living in very uncertain times now. Rest assured when we all come out on the other side we will continue with the support of the key stakeholders and our volunteer base in this annual cleanup event. ... This decision has not been taken lightly. Our volunteer base that we treasure, their health, and wellbeing is far more important now than an annual cleanup of Wilbinga. Please, everyone, stay safe and stay well. See more

03.01.2022 Some volunteering information to share from this link. http://www.wilbingashackscrew.com.au/volunteering

03.01.2022 We've been receiving quite a number of queries about camping or heading into Wilbinga over this coming 2020 Easter break. The short answer is, unless some of you live in the Wheatbelt Region then the answer is unfortunately, by law during a State of Emergency, a big fat NO. We've been led to believe that police and rangers will be patrolling near the boundaries. At your own risk.

01.01.2022 As can be seen, by the photos, way, way too many people didn't stay south of the boundary today (the wheel tracks everywhere??!), and even then they are not sup...posed to be there either - all young ones too. At least we did the right thing and got passes to get through the Police roadblock. I just wonder how many don't realise that being in Wilbinga today that no insurance would cover their arses during these COVID restrictions, not even third party. There were so many vehicles out there today on the wrong side, it's just mind-boggling. We hoped for the best that people would do the right thing but we expected the worst and we were not disappointed in that the worst was the case. With an 80 being towed out after being put on its side. Clowns riding on roof racks well over 40kph driving on the beach. Only saw one sand flag on one 4wd today. And there was approx. 40 vehicles we came across on the wrong side - they can't all have resided within the Wheatbelt region. The whole area has been chopped up to the shithouse. I guess this is what happens when the responsible are kept out. See more

01.01.2022 As a reminder to all, only on-road registered vehicles with third party insurance are permitted to enter the Wilbinga Conservation Park.
