15.01.2022 Kindergarten Transition to School Week 2 was a great success. We loved welcoming our 2021 Kindergarten students to our wonderful school for their second orientation, there were less nervous faces and more excited smiles!

14.01.2022 Year 4/5 warmed up their Maths brains by investigating number lines of different lengths. They all had to plot numbers between 0-200, but some were long and some were short! Great mathematical conversations could be heard!

13.01.2022 ***Part 2*** Today at St. John's we concluded our transition sessions for our Kindergarten 2021 students. We have had such a great time welcoming our newest sch...ool community members! We thank parents/carers for being so patient and understanding with the modifications that needed to be made due to COVID19 restrictions. A big thank you to the staff who assisted in the planning and organisation of these sessions. A very special thank you to our newest students for attending! 12.01.2022 This years we are blessed to have five children from both St Mary's Parish Primary School and Hay Public Primary School prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in our Parish Church.

10.01.2022 Stage 3 have been leading maths games this week. They are leading mixed age and ability groups focused on Place Value and Addition. Well done Stage 3.

09.01.2022 Congratulations to our fifteen cricketers who attended the Wilcannia-Forbes trials today in Parkes. A very competitive trial and great day out resulted in Lachl...an, Thompson, Mac and Cayden being four of the seven students selected to progress to the next level of pathway competition. Well done! We partic...ularly enjoyed our NAIDOC Art Session and researching lots of different inspirational indigenous men and women in our mixed groups. 03.01.2022 Friends, this weekend we begin a brand new Liturgical Year with the 1st Sunday of Advent. Thus far, this year has caused us many trials that we did not see comi...ng. Trials that have caused much pain, sadness and distress. 2020 has been a year filled with darkness and at stages we did not believe we would see a light at the end of the tunnel. Yet despite the lifting of restrictions, few numbers in COVID-19 cases etc, there is still fear in our community both on a local and national scale. I guess you are wondering how does this relate to Advent? Advent is a time of preparation, a time to STOP and PREPARE for the greatest gift to us, Jesus. Therefore friends, let us use this time to bring ourselves out of the darkness of 2020 and see a light that is about to come. That light is the light that overcame the darkness of a stable 2,000 years ago. As we prepare for Christ's birth, let us now use this time to ask God to prepare our hearts, drive away fear and prepare a room for Jesus Christ. Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus! +Columba
