25.01.2022 Today's Pics. So today, on recommendation from a few locals and having some time to kill, I packed the trusty camera and 16-35mm lens and headed to St Marys Chu...rch in Bairnsdale. Feeling a little nervous and having no idea what I was about to see I tentatively entered the church thinking I was going to have to put on my best catholic schoolboy manners in order to convince the local priest to let me take shots of the interior of the church. I quietly opened the door and stepped inside and was speechless to what I saw. I waited, thinking any moment now I would be approached and questioned as to my intentions. I waited, I waited, I waited...no one. I figured that having not yet been struck down from above I should remove my camera from my backpack, set up my tripod, and start taking shots of the incredible work in front of me. For 40 minutes I wandered around undisturbed until I figured I had enough shots, packed up my gear waited, admired a little longer, then left, still having not been approached by anyone and still in awe of what I had just seen. Please read the explanation below that refers to the artist and the mammoth achievement of which he undertook. This is the kind of work you'd expect to see in the great cathedrals of Rome but this is in country Victoria, Bairnsdale, East Gippsland in fact. Awesome is a word used all too often these days but in this case, I feel its absolutely worthy. So here are a few of the shots. If you ever get a chance to stop and have a look at this I highly recommend you do, it really is a remarkable achievement. Work by Francesco Floreani, St Marys Church, Bairnsdale. Here you go then. 22.01.2022 The long Glide. A few days ago while out on the lake taking a break from some stupidly long hours in front of my computer, I sat and watched this eagle glide for well over 10 minutes, never needing any assistance from anything but the air around it. It circled high above until slowly but surely it turned and headed straight for me. Majestic, mesmerising, proud and all with a sense of confidence, dominance and entitlement. I’m not really sure what separates these eagles from... the other birds of this country, but for me there most certainly is a special something about them. The long Glide on a storm filled sky. 22.01.2022 I found a PRINTER!!!!!! throughout this lockdown period, not only have I not been able to tour but I've also had to knock back sales of my photography due to the fact that the local printer I used was forced to close their doors for good. As you can imagine this has made things a lot more difficult for me, but at last I have found another company that can help and I'm now able to once again offer delivery to your door a printed version of any of my works. Last week I posted... this pic of Mallacoota, an area that had been all but destroyed by the fires earlier in the year. I was asked to head there a few weeks ago to document just some of its recovery and this is one of my favorite shots of that trip. I was asked by more than a few to supply a printed version of it after posting it and now I'm very relieved to say that I now, once again can. All of my shots are available through my website and the link below will get you there. To kick things off again I'm going to do a 10% off normal price 'Pic of the Week" for the week that it's featured! This is the first of many to come. Click the link below if it interests you. https://wildlifeimagery.com.au/produ/mallacoota-blue-light/ Cheers, Scotty. Here you go then.

21.01.2022 Sunrise 6:04am, Bass Strait. Can’t seem to sleep in these days but as a consequence I’ve seen some pretty spectacular sunrises over the ocean. I couldn’t remember ever, in my entire life seeing a rainbow caused by the rising sun so I couldn’t resist the opportunity for a pic or two. Here you go then. ... Sunrise Rainbow over Bass Strait. 04.01.2022 Yesterday as this storm approached one of the most vivid rainbows we’ve ever seen developed in front of us. The brightest end of the arch landing fair square at the point where the lake will eventually open to the sea. I’ve thought for a long while that this lake was indeed a national treasure, it seems Mother Nature supports my theory. Stormy Rainbow Here you go then. ... 02.01.2022 Was recently asked to produce a film clip for Australian band The Badloves. A combination of my photographic stills, some live performance, and some digital animation. All the shots were taken in the area that surrounds our home in East Gippsland, Victoria. It's a fantastic song by a fantastic band and I feel lucky to have been able to share our area's scenery alongside such an iconic act and their latest release. Band- The Badloves Song -Tribal ...
