21.01.2022 These past few days have been fantastic for game viewing at the Hide. Our lucky local guests were accompanied by a herd of 600 Buffalo at our pan during their d...inner. On the night game drive our guests saw the elusive Mopane feasting on a young Buffalo calf from the big herd that visited our pan at dinner just 5 minutes from camp! Incredible! The next morning we captured these photos of his two wives and nine cubs displaying full bellies from the remaining carcass. 19.01.2022 During September we focus on rhino conservation. With your help we can continue to develop a stronghold for black and white rhinos to be safe and to flourish in... the wild. There are fewer than 5,000 black and 20,000 southern white rhinos remaining. You can help us protect and preserve these magnificent animals by adopting them via our partner Helping Rhinos. When you adopt our famous poaching survivor Thandi & her family you contribute to our efforts on the ground to secure rhinos for the future, to give them a foothold where they can recover and contribute to the survival of their species. Every donation is so appreciated. Thandi (in the photo with her calf) has become a beacon of hope in the fight for rhinos. She didn’t just survive a vicious poaching attack back in 2012, this incredible rhino has thrived. While her face still bears the scars of that night, Thandi has gone from strength to strength, and even bought three more rhinos into the world; Thembi, Colin & Mthetho. ADOPT Thandi: https://www.helpingrhinos.org/adopt-thandi/ #RhinoFriday #HelpingRhinos #WorldRhinoDay

14.01.2022 You asked us: What is the best time to visit the #Gorillas in #Uganda? Uganda is known as a whole round travel destination to any tourist planning to travel. Th...is is due to its climate and location to the equator. The other factor making Uganda a travel destination throughout the year is Lake Victoria and its unique weather patterns to the climate. Uganda mainly has two rainy seasons; the short season starts from October to November and the long rainy season starts from Mid-march to the end of May. Therefore, the best time of the year when you should go for gorilla trekking in Uganda is June, July, August and September. If that is not possible, January and February should be relatively okay.
