22.01.2022 Resetar's Mangrove Snake, Myron resetari! One of Australia's newest snake species, these Homalopsid's live amongst the mangroves of Broome's Roebuck Bay. After a few nights of searching, we finally found this spectacular individual foraging for fish and crabs along a muddy drain. 20.01.2022 Southern Angle-headed Dragon, Hypsilurus spinipes! These amazing prehistoric looking dragons inhabit the mountainous rainforest of eastern Queensland. They are the kings of camouflage, with most people walking straight past them without knowing. They employ a similar defense mechanism to Frill-necked Dragons, where they quietly shuffle around a tree trunk to remain out of view to any potential predators. 20.01.2022 Grey Whip Snake, Demansia simplex! This tiny hatching Grey Whip Snake is one of the smallest snakes I've ever seen - around 6" long and pencil thin. These are one of the harder whip snakes to find, so I was particularly stoked to find one so small while on a tour in the remote northern Kimberley back in 2016. 18.01.2022 Crack-dwelling Whip Snake, Demansia rimicola! These swift, mildly venomous snakes occur on cracking soils in outback Australia and specialise in feeding on lizards. When disturbed, they flee into the deep labyrinth of underground cracks that form during drought periods. Restricted to sandstone outcrops of the north-western Kimberley, they're surprisingly difficult to spot as they bask in dense grass tussocks. 08.01.2022 One of the best varanid photos in the world! We regularly spot Perenties when visiting the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area. It features myriad habitats, from red sand dunes vegetated with spinifex, to huge eroded rocky outcrops and of course, one of the best reef systems in Australia. Due to the unique landscape, there's several different species of endemic reptiles that only occur in the Ningaloo area. We normally spend the days fishing and diving, and the evenings spotlighting for wildlife. What more could you want?

Although the fires have been catastrophic, they are localised to a very small area in relation to Australia as a whole.
