03.01.2022 This morning our Lodge Manager, Charlie Eager, noticed a freshly killed female Euro kangaroo on the highway which still had a joey in her pouch If left this little one would very likely have faced a horrible fate as a result of being orphaned and unable to fend for itself. To Charlie's relief he appeared okay and hopped, with a little encouragement, into a pouch bag that Charlie keeps in his car for occasions like this. The joey was successfully transported to volunte...er wildlife carers in Hawker town Flinders Ranges and Outback Tourism who will care for and hopefully rehome this adorable little guy. Please take care when driving around our beautiful countryside and if you accidentally hit or find injured wildlife please call WIRES on 1300 094 737.
