25.01.2022 We had a fantastic night last night on our creatures of the dark spotlight tour, part of the #naturallygc program. We saw these amazing spitfire caterpillars making their way up this gumtree, it was so cool. We also saw some brushtail possums and plenty of koala poo ! #spitfirecatterpillars #creaturesofthedark #naturallygc #naturallygc2020 #koalapoo #spotlight #wildlife

22.01.2022 So yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of watching a family of 3 Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos have a munch on our fig tree. What an amazing sight and sound!! Such beautiful creatures!!! A few photos are in the comments :)

19.01.2022 I am the luckiest person ever! Getting to call these little sweet peas my babies is just incredible and I'm grateful every single second. Love being able to teach them about wildlife and watch them learn...all with the help of the best Dad/husband ever #lovemyfamily #cuties #solucky #lovebeingamum #wildlifefamily #somuchlove

19.01.2022 Obsessed with this handsome boy! Roger is full of personality and has so many little quirks that make him extra special. These birds are such gentle creatures and so entertaining to watch. Very different to other cockatoos! We are so lucky to be able to teach kids about these beautiful birds, Roger is a wonderful educational tool and oh so beautiful #redtailedblackcockatoo #cockatoosofinstagram #birdsofinstagram #bird #thatbeak #feathers #education #wildlife #australianwildlife

18.01.2022 So important to look into netting that is safe and properly installed to ensure this doesn't happen....what a horrible, stressful situation for any animal

17.01.2022 Working weekends is easy when it's for your favourite people #albinodarwincarpetpython #snakesofinstagram #python #lemon #reptilesofinstagram #australianwildlife #wearesolucky

17.01.2022 My human babies made the animal babies some toys today . These are great for enrichment and the egg cartons filled with food are great for encouraging that natural foraging behaviour. Roger was pretty happy with them eventually, after he realised they weren't scary, we've never used toilet paper rolls before so he was a little nervous #redtailedblackcockatoo #birdsofinstagram #australianbirds #enrichment #foraging #zygodactyl #wildlife #cockatoo #birdtoys

17.01.2022 Hot little boys! We're on day 3 of using frozen water bottles in all our nest boxes to try and keep the furry babies cool. Heat stress is such a worry for us so these last few days have been very stressful, it's not fun being hot!!! Remember water for the wildlife you may have in your backyard #squirrelglider #marsupial #marsupialsofinstagram #sohot #tryingtokeepcool #heatstress #nativewildlife #australiananimals

14.01.2022 Yes the world is locked down and yes we're all in the same boat here - lots of us have no work, lots have kids at home, many stuck at home for an unknown time....so let's have some fun together and learn something too! This coming Saturday at 10 am we are hosting an ONLINE WILDLIFE SHOW! This allows you to watch one of our shows, featuring a selection of our amazing animals - all from the comfort of your home. We will cover the basics of diet, habitat, behaviours of each anim...al during the talk and we'll open up for questions at the end. There are 99 tickets available, and we hope to run more sessions throughout the holidays. If you'd like to join us, the minimum price is $1 (and sorry eventbrite charges a fee) but you can choose your amount that you feel comfortable to pay for your ticket. These funds are going to help us so much, just to keep our animals fed - we can GUARANTEE you that 100% of funds will go directly to our animals. We really hope to see lots of you this Saturday through the wonders of technology. Thank you all once again for your support we really appreciate it! - link below will take you to the event. Thanks everyone! https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/zoom-wildlife-show-tickets-

11.01.2022 This is one of the most amazing, shocking, heartbreaking and beautiful documentaries we've watched! It's so important to watch and has definitely made us fall further in love with coral....a must see but be prepared to cry

09.01.2022 Absolutely love this and it's why people all over the world loved him too :)

07.01.2022 Absolutely blown away by the beauty of Fraser Island! Such a magical place...we saw whales, sting rays, sharks, many MANY birds, a monitor and lots of super cute dingoes. We are so very lucky to live here in Australia and we cannot wait to go back!!!!

07.01.2022 How amazing is this little bug! Hibiscus Harlequin bug nymph or sometimes called a cotton harlequin bug, a member of the Jewel Bug family. The adults look different, orange with spots but also very pretty. They're mostly sap feeders and seeds too. Nature is wonderful! #hibiscusharlequinbug #nymphs #bugsofinstagram #cottonharlequinbug #insectsofinstagram #jewelbugs

06.01.2022 Keeping cool on this hot day! Our Tawny Frogmouths love a light misty spray however they are actually really good at maintaining their body temp in both cold and hot weather. Some birds will keep their beaks open when it's really hot to allow them to cool their bodies faster, Tawny Frogmouths don't do this, it's more effective for them to keep their beaks closed as they produce a mucous in their mouth that helps to cool them as they inhale. They don't drink water like other b...irds either, they are really efficient at regulating their body water too and get all the water they need from their food. We make sure we dip their food in water to ensure their captive diet contains a small amount of water and that's all they need....to sum up, they're AMAZING!! #tawnyfrogmouth #nightjar #notanowl #notallons #keepingcoolintheheat #birdsofinstagram #australiannativeanimals #hotday See more

03.01.2022 A little hard to see but we have a beautiful brushtail possum sleeping in this old termite nest in our yard. So important to keep the empty nests because a whole range of animals use them once the termites move on. They're a great substitute for tree hollows which can be hard to come across. We also have kookaburra's nesting in another one, how lucky are we!! #brushtailpossum #termitenest #australiannativeanimals #wildlife #possum #snugglyandwarm #marsupial #stayingdry

02.01.2022 This is a fantastic project showing just how detrimental feral cats are to our Native wildlife. Please keep your cats inside!
