21.01.2022 Once again I will plead with carers to be on their guard regarding coccidiosis. With the recent weather patterns in Victoria, stinking hot one day, cool and wet the next, I am having numerous distressed carers calling in regards to cocci. If your Joey starts failing to finish their bottles or goes off bottle altogether. If they are standing a little hunched with that far away look on their faces ....DON’T WAIT!!!!! Have their poos checked immediately for the coccidia oocysts. If you wait until they are really ill or passing bloody faeces it’s likely to be too late. Best practice is to do or get weekly faecal floats done on every Joey under 12kg. When the oocyst count rises to 4 oocysts per gram of field wet poo (ie fresh moist), treat immediately. PLEASE these measures will prevent the death of so many joeys.

20.01.2022 Jackie Jackie lizard finally recovered from a nasty accident with a car. One of the few I can release during the hot weather. This fine creature will be released near the creek in a lovely bushy area. Good luck little one.

16.01.2022 With the approval of mass slaughter of kangaroos by the commercial kangaroo industry, coupled with 1000’s killed annually on our roads, many more illegally shot, and others dying through fence entanglement, dog attacks, other injuries and disease, how long can this go on before we stand up and demand change. Please share this post and contact the responsible government department, politicians and particularly the AJP, declaring your opposition to the slaughter of these creatures.

15.01.2022 Please vote in this poll by opening this article, before it closes. Thanks
