24.01.2022 Wild Colour Prints was the sponsor for the Face Me Portrait Competition part of Bundanoon Highland Gathering Inc just finished in Bundanoon. We contributed a Prize of $250 worth of fine art printing which was the door prize as a thank you to those who attended and enjoyed the high quality art drawn to Bundanoon. The winner was drawn from the entries by Chef Byren of DeliLicious Bundanoon fame at DeliLicious this morning just after 1030 am.... The winner of $250 worth of fine printing is Mr Terry Waide of Bowral. When contacted by Alex of Wild Colour Prints to tell him the news of his win, Terry was very happy although we suspect he hoped the call was from Lotto. Thank you to DeliLicious for allowing us to draw this prize in the cafe as well as giving as a venue to announce the People's Choice Prize sponsored by our friend John Everett of Jordans Crossing Real Estate. Congratulations to Dave Thomas for winning the People's Choice Prize for his painting "The Sheriff of Mittagong".

21.01.2022 Our thanks to a very pleasant and knowledgeable Telstra technician. We are back on the internet!!! It was not until I found a more senior person in the faults call centre in the Philippines that anything happened. The moral of the story is keep pushing.

19.01.2022 As one of our commitments as a co-sponsor of Face Me, the portrait competition part of the Brigadoon Scottish Festival in Bundanoon (Bundanoon Highland Gathering Inc), we produced a banner which will be displayed outside the Bundanoon Country Inn Motel. We are in good company as a co-sponsor along with the Bundanoon Country Inn Motel, Jordans Crossing Real Estate and of course that rather well known scotch whisky, Glenfiddich. This afternoon we delivered the banner to Jim Gil...lespie, the organiser of Face Me. He allowed us a sneak preview of some of the entries as Jim prepared to hang the competition entries. We were blown away with the quality and diversity of the entries - there are still more on the way. We are equally impressed with the quality of the exhibition space provided by the Bundanoon Country Inn Motel. The judge's prize will be judged by Archibald Prize winning painter Cherry Hood. So, have a look at the competition website: http://www.brigadoon.org.au/festival/faceme/ and make sure you turn up for the 40th anniversary Brigadoon Festival.

16.01.2022 My Facebook friends and followers, the sound you can hear is me banging my head on the wall in frustration. The assurances I received from my software supplier that my site was operating correctly were not true. My website is not operating properly again. Sorry. I wonder what will happen next. Very hard to launch a new site with these issues.

15.01.2022 Some of the scenes from the opening of the Face Me Portrait Competition at Bundanoon Country Inn Motel (a sponsor) on 23 March 2017. Copyright in the images of the event is held by Alexander Meysztowicz-Howen Photography however copyright in the paintings or other exhibit remains with the artist. We sponsored the Door Prize ($250 of fine art printing), the main Judge's Prize by Glenfiddich, the People's Choice Award by Jordans Crossing Real Estate.

15.01.2022 It may be late (well after midnight), however we just got the news our online fine art printing website is working properly again. We know this has been an on again/off again story. Our levels of frustration have been enormous. We can now go to bed knowing the system is up fully. Please feel free to visit and get a 20% discount on your first order. Now that it is stable again we will keep adding new features and services.... Go to www.wildcolourprints.com.au

14.01.2022 We attended the opening of the Face Me exhibition last night. We will post some images from that shortly. As part of our sponsorship we printed a banner. We discovered on arriving at the exhibition venue Bundanoon Country Inn Motel the banner had disappeared! The storm that hit Bundanoon a short time earlier had carried it away. It was found a little later across the other side of the road near the Bundanoon Fire Station. We will find out today if the banner can still be used after this act of God. If not, we will print another one to replace it. Pictured are Jim (left) and Thomas (the Brigadoon President on the right).

13.01.2022 On Wednesday 22 March, the entries in the Face Me Portrait Competition (part of the Brigadoon Festival) were judged by Archibald Prize Winning painter, Cherry Hood. The winner of the Glenfiddich Judge's Prize ($1,000) is Viriginia Boyle who painted a watercolour portrait "Dovahklin Diikul" of her son Gwilym. Congratulations. The judging and exhibition opening took place at Bundanoon Country Inn Motel who are one of the sponsors. The Judge's Prize is sponsored by Glenfiddich, the Peoples' Choice Prize ($500) by Jordans Crossing Real Estate and the door prize for those attending the exhibition by us Wild Colour Prints ($250 worth of fine art printing). Copyright in the images of the event is held by Alexander Meysztowicz-Howen Photography however copyright in the paintings or other exhibit remains with the artist.

13.01.2022 Forgive us please for whinging about what may sound like a first world problem. We have had no internet for more than two days and it looks like Telstra will not fix it for at least another week. Our online printing business is effectively dead thanks to the outage. If we are slow replying to your email now you know why. Thanks to DeliLicious Bundanoon we can still function as well as have great coffee.

12.01.2022 Our latest blog article on the Wild Colour Prints website. All about how we protect canvas prints by spraying them with an Australian made laminate.

12.01.2022 Watched Face Me portrait competition organiser Jim Gillespie process the last of the entries to arrive. By now Jim will have hung the works ready for judging tomorrow by Archibald Prize winning artist Cherry Hood. This exhibition is worth a visit from Thursday.

11.01.2022 We can now announce that we are sponsoring the door prize for the Brigadoon portrait competition, "Face Me". The prize will be $250 worth of fine art printing services from our new online fine art printing web service. Many artists wish to reproduce their work so we can help them with that. Look at the Face Me page on the Brigadoon website for the competition entry form and conditions.... http://www.brigadoon.org.au/festival/faceme/

11.01.2022 After examination of the patient following the storm yesterday, we have evidence the patient (banner) has been run over by passing cars before reaching the Bundanoon Fire Station. Unfortunately the condition of the patient is critical and there is no hope of being made healthy again. Wild Colour Prints is making a new banner to replace the injured one. Much discussion as to how to fasten the new one to a frame so it too does not take off.

09.01.2022 Most canvas prints we make are destined for displaying art. One rather different project we worked on was to use stretched canvas prints to soften internal building partitioning in a shopping centre during reconstruction of retail spaces. The idea was to cover the hoardings with promotional messages and images as well as some directional signs. These stretched canvases remained in situ for some months during construction works. We had to work to a very tight timetable as a su...b-contractor to the primary provider of these images to the shopping centre. This project shows the flexibility of stretched canvas in the commercial environment. Such prints can be made stretched to any sizes, no framing is required, perfect for short runs, and showing a good colour gamut. We are not a sign business. We applied the same post processing and printing techniques as we do for fine art except that the quantities were somewhat larger. Photographed with an iPhone. #stretchedcanvas #canvasprints #canvasprint #canvasprinting #shoppingcentre #largeformatprint #largeformatcanvas #largeformatprinter #largeformat

09.01.2022 The previous image showed temporary signs printed on matte non-archival paper. The pull up banner was printed for a local chef on polypropylene. This material is strong and holds colours well. One normally finds such signs at conferences, trade shows and inside business premises. What we didn't know is the chef put this banner sign outside and for most of the time left it there. The result? It survived! The colours did not fade or run. Says something about the quality of the Epson pigment inks usually used for fine art prints. The mechanism of the banner lost its mojo and the banner dropped a little but still looked good. #temporarysignage #temporarysign #largeformat #largeformatprint #southerhighlands #southernhighlandsnsw #polypropyleneprinting #polypropylene #pullupbanners #epsonpigmentprint

08.01.2022 Large format printing can be useful for images designed to last for only days. These signs were printed on non archival matte paper as temporary signs for local chef Stephen Crooks (aka Phatt Duck). We did the artwork however clients often supply their own. In this case we also did the photography. We do not usually do signs however these are another use for our large format printers. The temporary signs were not weather proof. #temporarysignage #temporarysign #largeformat #largeformatprint #southerhighlands #southernhighlandsnsw

08.01.2022 Banner #2 produced and delivered. Construction works to make a better frame and strengthen the material against weather attacks with the advice and assistance of Bill Whiting. Thanks Bill. Then finally Alex and Jim install the the edifice outside Bundanoon Country Inn Motel complete with hammering, stakes and rope. If anyone sees a flying banner please let us know.

07.01.2022 Working out what size print you need for the space available on your wall is sometimes difficult and annoying. You may still need your tape measure however we have incorporated a Wall Preview Tool that simulates all sorts of room environments and places your image in that space at scale size. Read our latest Knowledge Base Article in the FAQs showing how the tool works. http://www.wildcolourprints.com.au//articl/wallpreviewtool

02.01.2022 Over a handshake while having coffee at DeliLicious Bundanoon we recently concluded a sponsorship agreement with organisers of the Portrait competition "Face Me", part of "Brigadoon" the Scottish Highland Gathering taking place in Bundanoon commencing on 1 April 2017. Some of the cultural events will take place this month. Brigadoon is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with that legend of Australian music and obvious Scot, Jimmy Barnes performing the role of the Chieftan of the Day. We will tell more about our role as a co-sponsor as soon as their website has been updated.

02.01.2022 Jim Gillespie, Virginia Boyle (winner), Cherry Hood & Thomas-Andrew Baxter (President) - Winning painting: "Dovahklin Diikul" Virginia's son Gwilym, watercolour, gouche on paper
