04.01.2022 @ash_burke__ tagged us in this brilliant post.... it is very rewarding being able to harvest your own free range meat, stock the freezers and produce quality meals utilising the venison #repost Had the honour of taking this Rusa stag last week under the close watch of a non-hunter. She had never seen an animal taken and decided that if meat was going to be part of her diet, then she should be able to witness and be involved in the process. This resonated with me, being part of my journey to sourcing my own meat and taking responsibility for the impact that I choose to have. Thankful for the life of this warrior stag, the trust of local landowners and the huge bounty that now fills my freezer. Despite being just after the rut, the quality of food is exceptional.
