16.01.2022 **Announcement: Wild Dog Derby 2020 cancelled ** Hi mushers, We regret to formally announce that the race will not go ahead this year. As you could guess, this is largely due to COVID-19 restrictions, both causing concern our failed fundraising opportunities and for the event itself.... The new committee are completely committed to work on an even better 2021 Derby for you all, as we now have a further 12 months of fundraising opportunities. Keep an eye on our page for some sledding merch designs available soon!!

15.01.2022 CORONA VIRUS ANNOUNCEMENT Hi everyone, Wild Dog are aware of the Corona Virus pandemic which is causing serious consequences in daily lives and damage worldwide. With the rapidly evolving public response to Covid 19, our club needs to take a responsible decision and advise all potential attendees that they should not attend to our events if they have: any cold or flu-like symptoms... if they have been or are likely to have been exposed to someone who has or is suspected of having Covid 19 if they are undertaking international travel in the next two weeks Good hygiene is important, and focusing on hand hygiene can help you reduce your risk. If possible, we wish to advise people to bring hand sanitiser. The club will be bringing a bottle for general use. Another issue that has been discussed is the concerns of CCV (Canine Coronavirus) outbreak within parts of the dog community in Australia. CCV is 100% NOT related to the human virus that is currently in our headlines. It affects only dogs and can only be passed from dog to dog. Although there is current rumours/speculation there are cases in Lewiston, we can confirm from Noah’s Crossing Veterinary Clinic that they have had no recent cases to them and are unaware of any local outbreaks. We ask that if your dog’s prevail any signs of illness or not being quite themselves, please do not come out to our 5km K9 Trail Run as a precaution. As we are trying to apply good hygiene practises, we will not be providing a communal water bucket and are asking that you please bring your own water bowl to give your dogs. Thank you all for your co-operation. Wild Dog Committee
