Aromatherapy is the practice of using plant materials (in other words, essential oils) to improve overall wellbeing. During inhalation, odor molecules travel through the nose and affect the brain through a variety of receptor sites, one of which is the limbic system, which is commonly referred to as the "emotional brain."... The limbic system is directly connected to those parts of the brain that control memory, stress levels, and hormone balance . This relationship helps explain why smells often trigger emotions. For me when i smell certain flowers it takes me back to playing in my nan and pops beautiful garden as a child...ahhh the memories Any of the essential oils can be used aromatically, and there are great benefits to using them. Ways to use oils aromatically: Put a few drops in a diffuser. Most diffusers at doTERRA use water and are effective at dispersing the oil into the air in a fine mist. Place a drop in diffuser jewelry. You can make your own jewelry using lava beads, air drying clay, or terra-cotta clay. Add a few drops to your palms, rub together, and cup your hands over your nose. 19.01.2022 DIY BODY WASH AND HAND WASH Today I'm whipping up a super simple Lime & Patchouli body wash and Lemon/ Eucalyptus hand wash , it literally takes only a few minutes, is all natural, cheap and smells freaking amazing!!! For clean dishes that smell lovely, try this dishwasher detergentit only take you a few minutes to make! Ingredients 1 cup super washing soda... 1 cup baking soda 1 cup kosher salt cup citric acid 1 glass mason jar (32 oz) 30 drops of Lemon oil Instructions Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add essential oil drops and mix well. Make sure there are no clumps. Pour into a 32 oz glass jar for storage. Then bring the beach vibe to your hair with this easy natural sea salt hair spray Ingredients: 8-ounce spray bottle... 1 cup hot water 2 tablespoons Epsom salt 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 1/2 teaspoon Fractionated Coconut Oil 5 drops Rosemary essential oil 5 drops Lemon essential oil Note: Lemon oil is photosensitive and may lighten your hair if exposed to sun. Feel free to omit if desired. Directions: In a spray bottle add salts. Add Fractionated Coconut oil and essential oils. Top with water and shake. We used Doterra Lime essential oil but you can also try Grapefruit , peppermint or spearmint ..or experiment and create your own flavour. If you prefer a more shiny gloss add less beeswax and more carrier oil. ... Makes: 130 g (approx. 10 small containers) Prep time: < 10 min. Ingredients 50 g Shea butter 50 g of your carrier oil of choice , i used fractioned coconut oil ( which you can get from the supermarket). Almond oil is another great option. 30 g Beeswax 20-30 drops of essential oils Method 1. Add shea butter, carrier oil and beeswax to a glass bowl and heat until completely melted. (Double boiler method place bowl on a pot of gently simmering water and stir frequently. 2. Add essential oils and mix until combined. 3. Transfer into containers of choice. 4. It is so easy to whip up a batch of this all natural chest rub which I've also added some soothing Lavender to help when you're not feeling the best. Ingredients:... 1/2 cup of coconut oil 3 tablespoons of Beeswax 15 drops of Easy Air 5 drops of Lavender. Method : Combine coconut oils and beeswax in a bowl melt ingredients using double boiler method until just melted. Allow to cool slightly and add in Easy Air & Lavender essential oils. Give it a stir to mix oils through and allow to set. The girls love this balm , i also had some of the base balm left over so added in some Grapefruit for a nourishing natural lip balm. Happy making
