17.01.2022 Very healthy 90-year-olds have the same gut microbiome as healthy 30-year-olds. Aging is associated with a loss of diversity in the composition of the gut micro...biome. A new study looked at gut bacteria from people of varying age ranges and found that the healthiest elderly people that were 90-years-old had a composition of gut bacteria that was similar to people that were 30-years-old. This suggests that maintaining the diversity of your gut as you age may be a biomarker of healthy aging. See more
