24.01.2022 "Laughter Is The Best Medicine" - the topic our special guest speaker, Dr John Irvine will be speaking with us about at our next Wild Fig breakfast meeting on Thursday, 3rd June 7.30am-9am at L'isle de France Terrigal. In this special presentation, Dr John will have a light look at the role of laughter and other healthy choices in our mental and physical health. Members and guests are invited to share their own humour predilections and also to pick a winner and trifecta in the De-stressing Stakes to be run over breakfast. This event is a public meeting so if you are interested in attending this event, tickets are available via this link: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/wild-fig-service-alliance-b
22.01.2022 Being inspired by the Buyfromthebush campaign to support our fellow business owners doing it tough through the drought, Wild Fig Service Alliance are delighted to announce an initiative where, in a very practical way, we are helping a small business from Rowena on the North West Plains, NSW. We have invited Vanessa and Jenny from LightenUp to the Coast to hold a number of lampshade making workshops. LightenUp Handmade produce bespoke lampshades with beautiful textiles as well... as custom hand-crafted timber lamp bases. When the invitation was put to Vanessa, we were delighted she replied with a big fat yes despite the 7 hours to travel to get here. So now, we want to make the long trek worth their while so we would love Coasties to join us in supporting this bush business. Come along and create your very own original lampshade design that will complement your existing décor or it may become the hero design feature for a room. Bring your own fabric or choose from LightenUp’s wide selection and whatever your level of creativity, your custom shade will add a designer touch to your home that will make it look like the styling of an expert interior-designer! Workshops will be held on Friday 1st May & Saturday 2nd May. There will be a morning and afternoon session on these dates (and more workshops may be added depending on numbers). A big thank you also to Laurie and Marie O’Brien from Bridgecoast Finance Group who have generously offered their Airbnb for 3 nights for the ladies what an incredible gesture from one business owner to another. If you are interested in attending, send us a message here (or through the contact form page on our website www.wildfigservicealliance.com.au) and we will send you all the details.

07.01.2022 We are very excited to have Dr Andrew Kwong as our special guest speaker at our next Wild Fig breakfast meeting on Thursday, 8th October, 7.30am-9am. Andrew Kwong is the author of best selling book, One Bright Moon - a poignant, resonant story of a young boy's awakening - from survival, education, fulfilment and eventually a new life of freedom. Andrew was born in China, educated in China, Hong Kong and Australia and now works as a family physician on the Central Coast. He ha...s written many short stories and has been the recipient of numerous writing awards and fellowships. His upbringing during the Great Leap Forward was seminal. 06.01.2022 Whether it’s building the world’s fastest racing yachts, a performance luxury yacht, a submarine to explore the Mariana Trench, a specialised component for a Formula One racing team, or developing solutions for architects, scientists and defence organisations, McConaghy has a proven track record of delivering on complex composite projects. With shipyards on the Central Coast and China, the McConaghy name has become synonymous with light, strong and stiff laminated structures and at next Thursday's Wild Fig Service Alliance breakfast meeting, we are delighted that Eric from McConaghy Boats is coming along to share with us the story of this impressive local business that has been delivering excellence nationally and internationally for over 50 years.
05.01.2022 In the wake of COVID-19, few industries have fallen as far and as fast as the travel industry and no one knows this more so than our guest speaker at today's breakfast meeting, Allan Hopper from hopperound - Travel Agency. A big thank you to Allan for coming along and sharing his story with us and we look forward to seeing the reboot and reinvention of his business in the future. In the meantime, in Allan's words, "lets keep dreaming of travel".

02.01.2022 What a busy and inspiring morning at last week's Wild Fig breakfast meeting. It was great to hear Marc from Work Pics 360 and Sharon from Premier Shades with their 3 minute update about their businesses. We were also lucky to have Craig and Amanda Giles from Central Coast Studios share with us their dream to have a film studio right here on the Central Coast. What a fantastic opportunity for our region. Lets hope this dream becomes a reality in the not too distant future!
02.01.2022 Wild Fig Service Alliance were delighted to be able to donate a defibrillator to Michael Hughes Foundation and today, Wild Fig member Patti Wolf presented the defib to Parklife popup coffee at Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre (CCMDC) at Terrigal. The Michael Hughes Foundation's primary focus is to turn bystanders into first responders and today, staff were trained in using their new defibrillator. We are so thrilled that we were able to provide this life-saving device to our local community. Please spread the awareness that it is there if ever needed but lets hope it never has to get used.
