21.01.2022 Throw back to the inaugral thecuratedplate food festival on the Sunny Coast this year #regionalevolutiondinner

19.01.2022 Hi guys just a quick update- have been recieiving a few queations regarding foraging. Wild Forage AU remains however I am not picking for Suncoast Fresh commercially anymore. This is partly because of increasing demand and ensuring there is a long term balance between whats foragable and supplyable. Like all plants they respond to climatic conditions. The lack of rainfall & prolonged periods of heat have a massive impact on species abundance and distribution. Quality and a s...ustainable approach has been key above everything else. Last summer was a particularly hard summer for foraging. I've enjoyed over four years of collecting wild produce and believe its in the best interest of our natural resources to allow for some natural recovery. This is also a long term management approach and one that allows me the opportunity to explore further opportunities. I've lately been approached by Tourism Fiji and were exploring an approach that highlights endemic species to the islands. This involves identifying unique locations where a 'foraging' specific program could be developed in consultation with various land owners and with the national body. Post COVID theres obviously the need to diversify the nations tourism product and re think strategies for delivery. Im looking forward to working on this project that is close to home for me. Many thanks for the support over the last few years especially to the individual restaurants and Chefs. Suncoast Fresh continue to source a wide range of native produce and believe most products are now readily avaliable from the market. Many thanks Nick

15.01.2022 Foraging new nasturtium growth yesterday in the Hinterland, this wet dense growth is perfect for nasturtium runners to take hold. Surprisingly very little in the way of predator damage despite the large number of vegetable grasshoppers (atractomorpha crenulata) in this area.

Eds also worked at some of the best restaurants in the world like Le Gavroche and the French Laundry. #Repost @fastedmedia One of the highlights of this Friday’s show was an incredible adventure I had foraging on the Sunshine Coast with local chef and culinary leader Nick Blake. There are so many inspiring foods right under our noses, and we’ll show you some of the best. It’s all part of the Curated Plate festival starting soon. #betterhomesandgardens #foraging #curatedplate #sunshinecoast

02.01.2022 First attempt at making pearl barely koji, this one was a fail lots of variables to be controlled. The last photo is an example of the desired result.

02.01.2022 Putting together this weeks foraging list, looking forward to seeing what all this rainfall on the #SunshineCoast has done in the hinterland. Hoping all this rain hasnt stripped the start of Springs watercress. Exclusive to Suncoast Fresh
