23.01.2022 A lucky meeting ended in me getting a hold of what is, as I’ve been told, the only Australian created micro mini Sinningia. This is ‘Matt’s Misty’ and it is a tiny, beautiful plant that has become my favorite. 16.01.2022 Fittiona is a terrarium staple, easy to grow, beautiful colors and patterns, its hard to fault this great little plant. 07.01.2022 Restrepia striata. This beautiful orchid grows too large for a small terrarium but looks magnificent in a larger display. So far it has enjoyed the cooler weathers, 24 day and 15 degree nights and has shown its appreciation with 2 flowers, it will be interesting to see how it handles the coming summer. The flowers are about 50mm in height, delicate and truly delightful. I came home from a 9 day holiday to find one plant in flower and another in spike. 04.01.2022 BTS. What storage solutions does everyone use. Often the ‘behind the curtain’ storage solutions for our passions are less than ideal and we hide them away but with a bit of thought, there is no reason they cant be show pieces within themselves. I have all my plant stock, hardscape materials and tanks that are growing in all on racks with standard 5000k LED lighting wired to the shelves. 03.01.2022 Bulbophyllum pardalotum. This little cutie flowered for me finally! Only 2 flowers but Im pretty happy to get this one going after 2 failures with other of the same plant. The flower opens and closes each day for up to 10 days which is quite unusual for orchids I believe. This little gem measure only about 25mm wide.
