24.01.2022 As we step into our fourth year of Wild Honey Creative, (yep - we turned 3 last week and I was sort of too busy to do anything about it)... it feels like a good time to reflect and give some massive thanks to people who have helped us get this far. We have been privilege to work with the BEST clients - both locally, Australia wide, and increasingly over the seas. In the past 12-months alone we have helped launch or revamp almost 20 brands, and sent almost a dozen websites int...o the atmosphere! I've done cover designs for 2 incredible books, and photography and video projects with the amazing @thorphillipsmusic by my side, and we have continued to tell local stories through @kyogleculture Three months ago we opened @thebusinesshive_kyogle which also coincided with bringing on new team members to give us the capacity to work on larger projects. Last week (and over the coming 4 weeks) we get to watch one our largest project to date come to life over at @discoverrichmondvalley, with the development of destination branding for the region, a printed and online Visitor's Guide, a digital marketing campaign and video storytelling through YouTube and Social media as well as our first television commercial which started airing on Channel 7 and 9 yesterday. This crew in the train have been EPIC to work with. The super talented Paul Daley @alushforest on videography, Producer @rochelle_martin who helped with talent and location prep and joined us on shoot days, content photographer Mikaela Mazzer @mazzerphotographics... your combined talents have made the Richmond Valley project pure magic. Incredible support from the behind the scenes team also. Massive thanks to my husband Thor (on audio and social media editing, general admin support and saving my entire life), designers and developers @pretty_good_mcgain, Lillie C, Mel, and @saskia_che, project manager Kerryn, and digital pros Bamik and Jacqueline rounding out the WHC dream team on projects over the past few months. Just amazing! We could do none of this without the trust and support of our clients! 23.01.2022 We have had the busiest few months working with wonderful people, and it's high time we showed you some of the projects we have been up to! Working with Creative Plus Business was a bit of a 'pinch me' moment. Doyenne/CEO Monica Davidson was my original business coach, and I have so much to thank her for! She lovingly kicks creative business owners' butts in the best possible way. Mon and the CPB team provide education, business advice, consultancy, webinars, resources, and ...content to help you find self-employed success in your creative field. Monica approached us to give her brand a bit of a refresh, and then follow through with a custom-designed WordPress website. We modernized her logo slightly - updating the typography for readability and also making some logo variations, badges, and alternate brand marks so that it became useable in more places and across more platforms. We also helped lock in a typography hierarchy, patterns and developed a range of hand-drawn icons to add some jazz. The Creative Plus Business Website was our largest website build to date ... 35 standard pages plus blog posts and other functionality, and a few templates for downloadables to make things easier for the team. There you will find all the information, training, support, and help needed to work for yourself in the creative and cultural industries... totally recommend you check it out for all the goodness! 19.01.2022 Ahhhhh. Breathe it in. It was a total privilege to go to work today... Today was day 1 of a three day television commercial and content shoot and we spent the day exploring beautiful Evans Head. I've been super lucky recently to welcome some new team members on a project basis, including experienced producer Rochelle Martin, cinamatographic videographer Paul Daley and the lovely Mikaela Mazzer for photography. ... Today meant 3 a.m. alarm clocks, 5 a.m. storm clouds (blocking the planned scenic sunrise), and a 7 a.m. downpour but other moments of total beauty, like this one - of vibrant local friends - walking on Chinamans Beach at Dirrawong Reserve. 17.01.2022 We are sooooo very excited to be part of the birth of this amazing new brand True South Organics We have been working with owner Emma over the past few months. We started with some brand strategy work and helped her with suggestions for her business name. We knew we needed to communicate Emma's openness and honesty, which aligned with the purity and high quality of her beautiful organic skincare range. Emma is also based in Tasmania and loves the wilderness, nature and ...adventure, and with her products being perfectly suited to those who love the simple but special things in life, it was only right to give this brand a minimalist, natural, adventure-filled style. True South Organics was named, and we rolled into creating a logo and full visual identity to perfectly call to her ideal clients - lovers of nature, adventure, and simplicity. This included business card design and a professional email signature. We then helped Emma develop and design a wide range of packaging for all of her products... from scrubs, to serums, moisturiser and even pet shampoo, with pure botanic and organic ingredients - LOVE!!! And then it was onto website design, with a beautiful and easy to maintain e-commerce store, with some essential upgrade like welcome email and abandon cart reminders... A full-scale brand from strategy, to business naming, to collateral marketing, to packaging design to build design and development - and we could not be prouder to be able to help bring Emma's amazing vision for her business to life!!! 17.01.2022 Happy New Year! We are looking forward to 2021, with sincere hopes that this will be a year of peace, good health and happiness. On New Year's day last year, 2020 felt brimming with hope... and a few short days later it began to crumble for me personally. After 2019 relief that my Dad's house had not burned down in Australia's worst ever bushfires, and gratitude that my firefighter husband had stayed safe while protecting homes in our local area... we then lost my Dad in the... first week of the year, following a long battle with cancer and diabetes. His pain had passed, but saying goodbye was so, so hard. I know so many of you had losses in 2020. There has been so much heartache and challenge. But there was also much to celebrate... and these rollercoaster times remind us that life is intrinsically difficult, brimming with every emotion, but also overflowing with a whole lot of joy. I hope the joy outweighs the hard times for you this year. x Jasmine

15.01.2022 You know what feels awful... Investing your heart, your time, and your money into a brand identity but then when you first see it you know it just isn't 'you'. Urgh. Visual communication is so tricky. What one person describes as 'minimalist and bold', another might translate as garish. You might describe something as outdated when other people see it as organic or flowing... its a tricky language, full of personal preferences, and it is hard to get it right - even for design...ers! This is exactly why we start each project with a Mood Board. Think of it as a Vision Board for the visual identity of your future brand. It might contain colours, textures, inspiring images and other brands... and it will give us a common visual language to share with each other - to make sure both you 'the client' and us 'the designers' are moving in the same direction. We fashion our mood boards to hit a sweet spot between... 1. What you love and what communicates your true spirit and values 2. What appeals to your dream clients 3. What gives you a unique identity and place in the market 4. What works on both a strategic and visual level Mood boards are a bit magic. We find that when the Mood Board is right, the logo and brand creation flows quite effortlessly towards this common goal. This means fewer revisions (or quite often none!) and that wonderful feeling of opening your brand concepts and being totally delighted with what you find. We have had new team members join the Wild Honey Creative Crew, expanded our services and offerings, got to work with some amazing clients all over Australian and overseas, and been involved with some pretty incredible brands! Here is something a little different for us, but no less fun! We visited Murwillumbah Early Education Centre to help them out with a photography and videography package. ... The love and care this team have for the little people in their care came across so beautifully... it was a total pleasure! 03.01.2022 The new destination brand for the Richmond Valley has been revealed! This logo represents one part of a larger marketing campaign we have been doing with Richmond Valley Council over the past few months, and it formally launches tonight! The Richmond Valley has been devastated by drought, bushfires and flood in recent years.... Encouraging travellers to explore the true treasures of the Richmond Valley, and supporting small business and the local economy is one path to recovery. Funding from the Australian and New South Wales Government has made it possible. We worked with Richmond Valley Council to develop a brand identity and strategy, a new destination logo, a 72-page Visitors Guide, a website refresh, printed and digital marketing collateral, a collection of YouTube and Social Media videos, an extensive digital campaign, and a 30-second television commercial (airing on Channel 7 and 9)... All of which highlight the amazing offers in the Richmond Valley. From the country to the coast, this is a magical place full of nature, adventure, culture, history and country charm.
