25.01.2022 I was formerly part of the organising committee for this now biannual event. It is the only Australia wide conference held for those in the wildlife rehabilitation field including all the millions of volunteers around the country. This is the final call speakers for this years conference in Darwin. Do you have a unique insight into wildlife rehabilitation? Then let us hear your voice

25.01.2022 Autumn is here what does that mean for our frogs? It feels like we kick off the newsletter every month with small talk, usually something weather related. But weather isnt small talk in the FrogID office, because both temperature and rainfall play a major role in determining whether or not many species of Australian frog are breeding. If we take a look at the FrogID map on the website you can see that the May-July period of 2019 makes for very different reading than the su...Continue reading

25.01.2022 I see so many trees netted now since we have had some rain and the trees are producing fruit. Please, it only takes a few more minutes and maybe a couple $ more to get the netting that will save your fruit and our wildlife

24.01.2022 Tonight. Sign up now.

22.01.2022 Platypus our elusive and much loved native

21.01.2022 This little lady was in quite a pickle with that elastic band stretched across her mouth and behind her head. She could still eat, but it must have been very un...comfortable. In time the elastic probably would have broken, unlike stronger entangling materials like hard plastic rings, bread clips and fishing line, all of which can do terrible damage. Its so important to not throw away closed plastic rings of any type, like those attached to bottle caps, without first cutting the ring so that it cant get caught on or around wildlife.

19.01.2022 If you live in the Redlands area and would like to make a difference.... here’s your chance.

19.01.2022 Urgent please share.

18.01.2022 Dont be be animals are being killed or left to die and it feels like no one cares. Please people slow down. If an accident happens then stay there and phone for help. All life has the right to live or in the worst incidence die peacefully.

16.01.2022 Winter is breeding time for Koalas and Echidnas. Please be careful and look out for our precious wildlife.

16.01.2022 This could be interesting

15.01.2022 Sad fate of this platypus

15.01.2022 With more people getting back on our roads coinciding with koala breeding season and kangaroos who are now used to less traffic on the road. I fear we are in for huge amounts of wildlife being hit by cars.

15.01.2022 This looks interesting

14.01.2022 A tricky one but a good result

13.01.2022 Cute and cuddly

13.01.2022 Did you know that Yellow-bellied Gliders can have a home range of up to 63 hectares (155 acres)?! This is why our new Yellow-bellied Glider project won’t be su...ccessful without the participation of generous private landholders allowing us to survey their property for signs of gliders! We’ve been conducting letter-box drops throughout west Logan (Greenbank, Chambers Flats, Park Ridge) in hopes to start tracking the travel routes of these elusive little gliders. If you have large smooth barked eucalyptus trees on your property and you’re interested in having your property surveyed for Greater or Yellow-bellied Gliders - please reach out to our team at [email protected]

05.01.2022 This condition is NOT as some people may have suggested due to getting drunk on honey or nectar. This is possibly a viral infection. Please read this and the attached details in the comments.

05.01.2022 There is a glimmer of hope for the resurrection of Pelican and Seabird Rescue. if they do decide to go ahead and re-band and I will definitely be supporting them and I hope you will be too

04.01.2022 Just watched Bear Detection Dog on Foxtel Spotted Vets and others that Mark had worked with, some of whom had little knowledge of our wildlife when he knew them others who he had worked quite closely with at various institutions or capacities. In almost every instance the animals were transported in cages that I believe Mark may have made. His legacy is still helping the wildlife. https://www.lifestyle.com.au//meet-bear-the-hero-dog-whos-

04.01.2022 Its not easy being GREEN

03.01.2022 Please be aware

03.01.2022 Being a wildlife carer or rescuer can be a full time commitment that some people are unable to take on ... but being a wildlife transporter can take some of the burden off wildlife carers and rescuers and also allow other people to help our precious wildlife. If you are interested contact the group in these details.
