13.01.2022 Did you know that some reptiles are vulnerable to conditions such as Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) ? Adequate calcium in their diet is important to help prevent MBD, but what is also incredibly important is their exposure to UV . At WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo our reptiles have UVB lights in their enclosure, but are also given regular time outside to enjoy basking in the natural sunlight. Have you been lucky enough to meet one of our reptiles while they have been out in the sunshine? Here is Steve, one of our Bearded Dragons whose recent X-Ray shows very healthy bones.
