22.01.2022 More from the animal room.
22.01.2022 Another world first at the animal room at Wildoneyre. An Ant Lion has transformed into the dragon fly stage of its life. This is supposed to take months sometimes years for the right conditions. Well I am fortunate enough to witness the event. Unfortunately I did not video it. The fly had already surfaced and its wings were drying when I photographed it. The tank with three depressions shows an ant lion trap. This particular one has set three traps but would only live in one. The small grey round bug pictured in a tank is the ant lion. He waits at the bottom of the cone and insects slide in the sand into its waiting claw like jaw to be eaten. He will also flick sand particles at the insect to make it loose its footing and slide to the middle of the depression. The dragon fly type insect is the final stage of the life cycle.
20.01.2022 To all my friends with reptiles. I have excess mice and rats at great prices at the moment. Or you can just keep a live one as a pet. PM me.
20.01.2022 My new little friend. Lace Monitor. So small just now but not for long. What a privilege to have him join the family.

18.01.2022 We are now experts at tank repairs after leaks and entire fronts letting go. Thankyou to my son Geordy who has restored the repaired tanks to their present glory and home to some great aquatic animals.
17.01.2022 Another season with ninety percent productivity. This year we have live food to feed the young. This will give them a greater chance of survival. Tiny axalotls.
16.01.2022 Snake season has started. Had my first call out! It isn't fun crawling under houses. Call me direct or ring the Council for my number. All animals get relocated unharmed. Keep you pets and young children safe by keeping an eye on the snake and its whereabouts when you call me. I can't catch it if it disappears and for your own safety you want to know where it is at all times until it is removed.
16.01.2022 The western Pygmy possum is the cutest Australian marsupial. My little mate is now into his 6th year. I woke him up so he is a bit shaky. He has out lived three females.
14.01.2022 This years hatchings. They are enjoying fish flakes. Common marsh frogs found on the Eyre Peninsula.
13.01.2022 An update from the Animal Shack at Wildoneyre on the baby yabbies and cherry shrimp. All doing well. Parents have more eggs so excited for new arrivals.
13.01.2022 Another world first. Baby yabbies! and by mistake red shrimp accidentally thrown in with some weed which have now grown into monsters, in cold water.
11.01.2022 The animal shack at wildoneyre has just bred another world first. Bristle nose catfish. We can see about forty babies. Enlarge the photo to see some near the edge of their cave.
10.01.2022 Prehistoric things lurk in the animal shack. Get us back to your school, business, holiday dates.
06.01.2022 World first. Forgotten rainwater tank turned into yabbie pond and left over tank plants thrown in for food contained red shrimp. Nonetheless, our first baby yabbies and monster red shrimp in cold water. No food supplied except aquarium plants, mosquito larvae and algae.
