25.01.2022 Beachgoers: Stinger net Installation The weather is heating up which means we are entering stinger season. Stinger nets are scheduled to be installed a...cross the region from Wednesday 28 October 2020, weather permitting. Nets will be situated at: Etty Bay Kurrimine Beach Mission Beach South Mission Beach During the warmer months, marine stingers may be present in our tropical waters. You can minimise your risk of getting a nasty sting by always swimming in stinger nets where provided, wearing protective clothing, and not swimming when beaches are closed. For the current status of beaches located in our region, please visit the Surf Life Saving website at: http://www.nqlifesaving.com.au/beach-reports/ First Aid for Tropical Marine Stings 1. Call for medical help (ring 000). 2. Assess the patient and perform CPR if necessary. 3. Douse the sting site with vinegar as soon as possible. Vinegar inactivates the stinging cells, preventing them from injecting more venom. 4. Reassure the patient and keep calm until medical help arrives. 5. Wait at least 45 minutes before re-entering the water as symptoms of Irukandji syndrome can take a while to develop. 6. 18.01.2022 ! The experience was just great! It was my first time trying scuba diving and I was quite nervous. However, the professional adv...ice and behaviour of the crew changed totally my mind. The experience doing scuba diving was amazing, we saw many animals inside the water and the second immersion was so beautiful. I would like to point out the great job of Francesco, the instructor, he explained everything clear and inside the water he makes you feel totally safe and comfortable! Also, there is some extra time to enjoy snorkel, the experience is totally worth it! I will go again! Highly recommended! See more

The position is Casual and the candidate will need to have their own transport. Required or ability to obtain: Working with kids blue card, Manual Drivers license. An exceptional work ethic with a focus on customer safety and service. Is Highly adaptable, eager to learn and has the resourcefulness and aptitude to be able to apply common sense and initiative in rapidly changing environments. Must be Physically fit.

Preferable: Senior first aid certificate, vertical rescue 3 or equivalent, swift water cert and experience as a guide on a river and/or other outdoor adventure facilitating. Must be physically fit.

07.01.2022 WE LOVE WHAT WE DO and yay I got a 'shout out' hee hee Tripadvisor review: Great Barrier Reef Dive and Snorkel Cruise from Mission Beach Wow, what an ...amazing experience both with the locations we went to and the staff who ferried us around and the dive guides. Having done a few dives out of cairns you often feel like cattle getting herded into a truck, not the case with mission beach dive. Personal service and friendly staff willing to help wherever possible, as a local we will definitely be coming back for more dives. The locations were awesome, the reef was in great condition and likely because these spots don’t have tens of thousands of tourists impacting them. It’s definitely back to basics when compared to the bigger boats but the hospitality definitely made up for it and the food was delicious and plentiful. A shout out to Nancy at the front desk and our dive guides (sorry I forgot your names) who were awesome and very professional. See you again soon See more
