The Scene: An inquiry comes through and the prospective client has requested a HUGE amount of work for a tiny Fiverr budget The Struggle: You don’t want to sound like an asshole, but you also want to assert your positioning while still trying to help ... The Solution: This email template Yep, this is what I send (word for word): ‘Hi So, first off, thanks so much for filling out the Project Brief. You did good, amigo; you did real good. Picking up what you’re putting down, it seems like you’re after and your budget is . To be totally honest with you, lovely, that falls outside the scope of what I can offer you. (*Cue the saddest trombone riff*) As much as I'd love to work with you, my rate for starts at <> which is quite a bit out of your price range. From this point, I can offer you three options: Option 1: You can say, F*ck it, and I can quote for the above amount while you make some adjustments to your budget and sell all your old junk on eBay. (‘Cos you don’t *really* need all those shoes, do you?) But I understand that when it comes to biz, cash flow is a mofo (I know, I’ve been there), so this may not be a viable option for you right now.
