24.01.2022 Many of us spend our whole lives running from feelings with the mistaken belief that you cannot bear the pain. But you have already born the pain. What you have not done is feel all you are, beyond that pain. - Kahlil Gibran
23.01.2022 The earth is calling you home. Its dusty floor has secrets to tell you. Open those doors you have locked in fear. Its roots and depths have warmth, you are held. Return home and deepen your foundations. I feel you. I see you. I breathe you. You are all around us.... You are the echoes in the alleys, You are the whispers in the trees. These buildings hold your spirit as much as the land holds your soul. In my highs I feel you breathe, In my lows I weep your tears, In my confusion I feel your rage, In my clarity I see your lifeblood. I thank you, I thank you, I thank you! See more
23.01.2022 A little morning reflection. After Olives 4 bouts of IVDD, 3 surgeries and 1 conservative, this time around I feel a little different. I wanted to share this here because I am a Movement Therapist and a Psychosomatic Practitioner and instead of going into the land of negative around this journey I have decided to use all my skills and power to make this a very different experience for us both. I have always felt incredibly sad and victimised by this awful disease but while... Olive was in hospital this time I reflected on how my mindset, energy and body language makes her feel around her own journey in her body. So I have been changing it up this time. I decided to take her recovery into my own hands and learn and apply all I can around release bodywork for animals and apply what I do to animals amongst the many other things we need to do inside of her recovery. We have set up our amazing routine again and I am setting my thinking up to be a wonderful bonding journey with this incredible little furry being. No more feeling overwhelmed around this journey. We will work through this together and rest and recover, nurture, stretch, swim, eat well and do all the things needed to soothe and heal both our souls! I am incredibly grateful for all she shows me in my own life. What I need to look at and where I need to trust and let go and flow and find patience and compassion. This is what life is after all right! Learning to be in our own skin and be comfortable with listening to all the irks and perks and holding those spaces as best we can. IVDD sucks but it has also helped us become incredibly close and determined and that shows in how she recovers. Most would say put her to sleep, its too expensive and I say, I will fight until her soul is ready to leave this planet because that is not for me to take her life until her body is ready to depart and as for money, some things in this world dont have a dollar value and this is our journey and I intend to walk it till Im shown another path. To my best friend, I have your back buddy. Animals have so much to teach us. Photo by Shona Terese her angel of a vet nurse who cares for her like her own during her hospital admissions. Thank you we love you immensely.

21.01.2022 You translate everything whether physical, mental or spiritual, into muscular tension. Psychosomatic therapy releases these stored tensions from the body through body mind analysis and a deep awareness of what the body is storing and deep release through trigger points bodywork. Psychosomatic therapy is a direct way to be living an embodiment of vitality and balance in life. Get in touch for an appointment. www.wildwaratah.com.au Artist - Megan Howland
18.01.2022 The word Soma is a Greek word that means living body. The idea behind Somatics is one that supports an active awareness of the internal sensations within your own body. In today’s world there is a lot of stress put on what we see from the outside, and very little thought given to what we feel going on inside. When something seems not right we head to a doctor or other outside observer to tell uswhat is going on inside our own body. While they have their place and val...ue, we have given so much weight to their words. We have lost our own ability to sense, understand, and communicate theone thing that nobody else can know:Our unique bodily sensations. We can benefit from reclaiming what we know to be true from the inside out.The more we can take charge of our own health andtrustour ability to be wise about our own bodies, the better we can tune inward. We can exercise our mind/body connection and are less likely to do unintentional harm to our bodies and create a deep relationship with ourselves. Research has shown that doing deliberate movement that involves body awareness and presence (Somatics) has many health benefits that help the immune system. Most Somatic approaches provide a whole-body perspective that will enhance all aspects of your health, coordination, and overall well being. In my own experience, I have found taking time to listen to my body is a great way to reduce stress and find clarity and calmness. I have gained confidence, strength, and a sense of responsibility over my health. P: @oveck

16.01.2022 Whether you’re 80 years young or 8 years old, engaging in dance changes you. Dancing requires you to trust yourself and give yourself permission to fly. The benefits of dance encompass all areas of health, including physical, mental, social and emotional. Moving your body to the sound of music can transform your life.... Movements that we typically do in our daily life, like walking, taking the stairs, and common workouts like treadmills and cycling, occur in the sagittal plane, but dance works your body from all planes, including lateral and rotational, which turns on and conditions all muscles, meaning no muscle is left behind. Movement and dance are extremely expressive, which can allow you to escape and let loose. It’s this letting loose that helps improve your mental and emotional health by reducing stress, decreasing the symptoms of anxiety and depression, and boosting your self-esteem. This Sunday the 17th January we begin an 8 week series to explore movement for health. Head to www.wildwaratah.com.au to join me. P: @dave.krugman

12.01.2022 Sitting in a place of void, between shifting old paradigms and creating new constantly. We struggle with not being able to work things out, the mind grasps for understanding at the uncertainly of not knowing. This is a place I have become familiar with over the years. In fact, even though it feels a little awkward and a little uncomfortable, it is a place I find peace and tranquility. ... Its a space of permission to be still and discover, to enquire. It is a beautiful place within, to discover myself over and over again. Its the beautiful knowing, that from this space we can create anything we desire. The weights of old ways are lifting, the restraints burst free and I feel weightless in the unknowing of who I am now becoming over and over again. These beautiful layers of growth, of discovery, of meeting myself, of coming home. The newness of continually stepping into who I am is what this life is about. This is the journey. 03.01.2022 Storms make the earth honest. They rattle the edges and tear it to shreds before gifting the calm again. Your own hardships and storms do the same to you. They rinse you clean. 02.01.2022 Opening the heart to big bold messy love that looks nothing like the fairy tales tell you, that’s courageous. Holding each other through their pain and aching, loving them boldly and expansively when neither of you can see clearly, that’s vulnerability. This week has opened me deeply. This week has busted me wide open, this container I’ve known as love. It has widened my perspective beyond belief and left me exposed and spacious! I’ve pushed my edges and found new ones, I’v...e loved my incredibly messy and evolving self and others even when I’ve struggled to do so, I’ve kept opening when I’ve wanted with all my might to close down and I’ve held the space of suffering and immense pain even though I’ve doubted my capability to do so and here I am wide open, breathing deeply and experiencing this wild human journey with all its intensity and glorious beauty. The heart is an all consuming vessel, wrapping its arms around our messy, confusing, unique and exquisite selves. Holding us deeply and firmly through it all, loving us unconditionally and brightly until we are glued back together in new ways to face what’s ahead of us newly and again and again. The shadows are often dark but my goodness, the light is illuminating on the other side.
02.01.2022 Settling in for a 3 day COVID lockdown in Brisbane. Beautiful weather for it and some reflection time. Stay safe everyone.
02.01.2022 It is where I came from and where I return.
01.01.2022 Life is a beautiful, chaotic collage! Do not waste our suffering, use our traumas which we all have to go deeper within and know our bodies, know our minds and create a life that is accepting of the ebbs and flows we experience as human beings. This is our journey, this is the ride! To understand that life is not what is happening to us but within us. Such a beautiful journey it is to get to know the landscape that we are, inside and out! ... To feel and to see, not numb and avoid is what we are here to come home to. To embrace and accept the light and shadow of being a human being. To not waste the suffering, but be with it, feel it, every inch of it and move through it just as we do pleasure and joy.
