22.01.2022 We send our congratulations to Principal Jones Nimbwen, his team, and all the graduating students at Rensarie College for organising a splendid and successful Graduation Day. It was a delight to be able to watch and follow the whole ceremony in real time...and particularly uplifting for us at the Wilkins Family Foundation to see one of our scholars, Jacinta, receive her Achievement Award. Well done Jacinta, and best wishes to everyone at the College for a safe and happy Christmas break and another successful year in 2021!

20.01.2022 From the Wilkins Family, Karen, Simon, Sallie and Peter. Congratulations Vanuatu.

14.01.2022 Strong and effective partnerships with schools ensure that we properly assess scholarship requests and can then follow the progress of selected students through their learning journey. In 2020 we began working with our third school, the Lycée et College de Norsup in North West Malekula, where we are now funding two girls. One is Odette, in Year 11, the eldest of 4, whose parents are separated and struggle to pay school fees. Odette enjoys English, Agriculture and Technology, and playing sports, especially volleyball. She says the scholarship will help her mum greatly and give her the opportunity to complete her education. Odette dreams of becoming a doctor, and coming back to work in Malampa Province. We're delighted to be supporting you Odette!

11.01.2022 Meet Diana, another Wilkins Family Foundation scholar for 2020. Diana is Assistant Head Girl at Lakatoro Secondary School. She has 3 brothers and 1 sister and comes from the village of Taremb on South East Malekula. Her mother Anna is an unpaid kindy teacher, and her father Elken cuts copra and sells fruit and vegetables to help pay for school fees for all their children. Diana likes Maths, English and Science. She would like to become a teacher so she can encourage other ...children to learn and succeed. She enjoys being in a position of leadership in the school, where her duties include food preparation for meals and clean up. At home she stays close to her parents, helping in the home with the younger children and working in the vegetable garden to help increase income to support school fees. Diana has impressive qualities of maturity, confidence and leadership, which we're sure will serve her well in her school studies and beyond.

10.01.2022 This week we received this note from the Principal of Lakatoro School In the beginning of the 2019 academic year two of our students, Evalyn Mrenato and Madlene Wameli were given the confirmation that their educational fees will be paid for by the Wilkins Family Foundation. This achievement in fact is a landmark for Lakatoro School when announced during the assembly because this is the first ever scholarship that is awarded to the humble students of Lakatoro School. With t...ears of joy, I shook hands with the two girls and wished them God’s blessings. The two girls were shocked with excitement. Theirs parents too were shocked with excitement. Faces of joy and relief could be seen that words cannot express. The two girls are maintaining their academic performances and are listed for Malapoa College in 2021. Last year another scholarship was awarded to Diana Shing. She is also is year 10 with the other girls. Diana is also on the list to continue year 11 at Malapoa College in 2021. This great assistance from the Wilkins Family Foundation has begun to write lifetime stories in everyone’s hearts. Your financial assistance and friendly approach has made the long time bond of friendship between the Wilkins Family and the Malekula natives stronger. We greatly acknowledge all that the Wilkins Family Foundation has done and wish you God’s blessings. We thank you John for your kind words. As you know the Wilkins family connection with the school goes back to its very beginnings over 50 years ago, and we are delighted to be working in partnership with you now and into the future for the benefit of your students John Kampai, Principal, is pictured below with Evalyn and Madlene, and our Foundation Country Manager Sallie Latella (neé Wilkins)
