11.01.2022 Just a heads up for people in NSW that have cars with engineers reports that were done before the new system started in late 2011. The RMS has issued a bulletin... to blue slip stations saying that cars with engineers reports done under the old system will not be issued with blue slips unless they get a new report under the new system. Pink slips are not affected. This means if you let the car run out of rego you wont be able to get it re-registered. It also means you wont be able to put it on club rego or if it is already on club rego you wont be able to go back to full rego. Some jerk in the RMS has tried to slip this through at Christmas time hoping no one would notice.. I suggest that we all write to our state member of parliament in protest. See more

11.01.2022 For weeks now I've been trying to change the name of our Facebook page to "Absolute Auto Body". Frustratingly my request kept on being rejected. Today I decided to try "Absolute Auto Body Smash Repairs" and it was approved straight away. Guess they needed to have the words "smash repairs" in there.

10.01.2022 When taking out a car insurance policy there's more to consider than just the price. We see every day what happens when customers have to make a claim and some insurance companies are better than others. We'll start doing a few posts on some of the things to think about when taking out insurance. Please feel free to pass on to your friends. The first point we'll mention this week is hire cars. If you have a major accident where your car is not driveable and could be off t...he road for a month, how will you manage without your car? If you can borrow a car from a family member of friend or are rich enough to pay for a hire car then you're OK. If you know you'd be totally stuck without a car then ask your insurance company how much extra the premium would be to add a hire car option in the event of an accident. You have to do this when you take out the policy - it's too late after you have an accident. More about hire cars in my next post.

10.01.2022 Can you beat Pat Cash Tennis in a roadside grand slam? If you're driving through Bathurst this Thursday make sure you take a break at our ping pong pitstop to find out. Anything to wake you up, don't drive tired. #takemorebreaks

05.01.2022 More about hire cars. If you take out a hire car option when you insure your car two more things to ask are:- 1. Is the hire car available only for 14 days or for the entire time your car is off the road? Many policies only cover you for a hire car for 14 days and in some cases this may not be long enough.... 2. Is there a daily limit to how much the insurance company will pay for a hire car? Some policies only cover you for say $75-00 per day when the actual cost could be $100-00 per day - especially if you elect to pay more per day to reduce the excess if you have an accident in the hire car. 3. Whenever you hire a car (even if it's just for a holiday) make sure you ask how much the excess is if you have an accident in the hire car. Most of the big hire car companies have an excess of around $3000-00 but you can pay an extra $25-00 to $30-00 per day to reduce the excess down to approx $300-00 in the event of an accident.

02.01.2022 Here we have Blake giving the new CTR9 inverter spot welder a crack. The new CTR9 is the latest in spot welding technology and we were told this is the first one in the Central West. It works great on all types of metal and self adjusts to different metal types and thicknesses.
