22.01.2022 We get asked for advice for the right car/van for a person's disability just about every day of the week. When it comes to wheelchair use in the rear of a vehicle window height is a significant consideration. The eye height of a client in a power wheelchair is approximately 1300mm on average (every individual is different). Here are two vehicles of a similar size, with similar roof lines, but one has windows that are much shorter than another.... The result of the wrong van, look at photo 3 and 4. We get reports of wheelchair users not being unable to see where they are going, not knowing where they are, gett8ng car sick because they can't see the horizon. 21.01.2022 Great outcome for this client. Spinner knob with indicators horn wipers and high beam all incorporated so it is at his finger tips. We also had reversing cameras and side cameras installed to come on when he goes into reverse or puts his indicators on. This way he doesn't need to look out the back.... Awesome. The car used to have a foot park brake. Not anymore. Now it has an electronic park brake.... And to access the community, we have had a small scooter that self folds at the push of a button and a lifter to make storage a breeze.
