17.01.2022 Last week was National Stalking Awareness Week. Some people mistakenly believe that the lockdown may reduce stalking behaviours, however this is unlikely to be ...the case. For people affected by stalking, the lockdown may increase the feeling of isolation and fear. A brave survivor from York has shared her experience of stalking with the Yorkshire Post to raise awareness and encourage other people to seek support. If you are concerned that you may be being monitored or surveilled by a current or ex-partner we are here to help. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk//yorkshire-stalking-victim

12.01.2022 Interesting article about the impact of remote hearings on justice. We have experienced how hard it is for our clients to engage in a meaningful way. What is not highlighted in the article is the impossibility of people who need an interpreter engaging in telephone hearings. The appearance and in some cases the reality of a fair trail is being curtailed for the sake of needing to make decisions now. It is an impossible balance to make. We are trying to minimise the impact by giving detailed information to our clients about how it works and identify/find solutions where something is unacceptable. Please contact us for further information

11.01.2022 Have you experienced relationship abuse or a toxic relationship? We need your help! We are redesigning our Survivor's Handbook, to help women get the suppo...rt and info they need more effectively. We need your thoughts to make sure were getting it right. Please fill in this form if youd like to participate in our research https://bit.ly/WAUserResearch

10.01.2022 This article sets out the legal position for health care workers, how their increased risk of infection may impact on their arrangements for child contact/where they live and what to do when there is a dispute. Please share with any health care workers you may know.

03.01.2022 "I've just finished my shift at Childline. It was really clear to see young people are really worried about coronavirus." Lee is one of our incredible voluntee...r Childline counsellors, working tirelessly to support young people with their anxieties during the pandemic. "It's causing them to relapse into self-harm and suicidal thoughts and what makes matters even worse is many children don't have the support networks they used to have, for many we're the only support networks they have". Without people like Lee, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. But without you, people like Lee can't continue to do the work they're doing. "I want to keep volunteering and supporting young people, it's vital that we're there for the children. They need us now more than ever, please support us so we can continue to support them". https://bit.ly/2ZtCnGG
