25.01.2022 COLLECTION FOR FIRE VICTIMS - WILLOUGHBY Willoughby Living has organised a collection over the next four days (Monday-Thursday) for essential and very much-needed items for fire victims. Willoughby Park Bowling Club is the drop-off location and members of the community can drop off items between 3.30pm-5pm. Please come to the side door on the right-hand side of the Club, near the unused green. Please also box up items if you can to make them easy for the truck to transport.... NO clothes, toys or homewares, and please make sure any food is in date. Like or comment on this post with a yes if youve seen it. Here is a list of items greatly needed (no other items will be accepted): Nappies Water Non perishable food/cans Tea Coffee Biscuits Snack bars Flavored crackers eg shapes Long life milk Cordial, Powerade Cup of Noodles/soup or the likes Cereal Womens, mens and kids toiletries (especially sanitary pads, tampons, toothpaste, toothbrush, razors) Panadol Face wipes Hand sanitizer P2 face masks Baby food Baby Formula Baby bottles Towels Toilet rolls Thank you Willoughby

23.01.2022 PENNANTS 2020 - SEEKING PLAYERS The club is finalising player numbers for the Northern Suburbs District Competition (Pennants) in 2020. And the big news in 2020 is that mens and womens bowling has amalgamated ! If youve ever considered playing competition bowls then now is the time to sign up.... Pennants is played on a Saturday from 12 noon to around 4pm in a home and away style event. 3 teams of 4 players take on the local opposition in a fun and spirited fashion. 2020 dates are 29th Feb to 16th May with finals after that Substitutions are allowed so if you are keen to have a crack come up to the club, register and start rolling a few down.

22.01.2022 Our Australia Day Bowling Comp is on today! Registrations open at 3pm, comp starts at 4pm. We hope to see you at the club for bowls, food, live music and Pioneer Brewing Co on tap from 2.30pm - today AND tomorrow!

20.01.2022 Curry is back at the bowlo this Saturday and Sunday nights! The kitchen will be fully stocked with delicious curries, come down and try before the launch of the extended menu which will be available from 26th January.

We were totally overwhelmed by the community support and would especially like to say a huge thank you for your patience to those who waited longer than ideal for your dinner. We served over 500 meals which is absolutely amazing! Keep the faith and it will be great!!! Thanks again for your understanding

Social bowls competition - register a team of 3 or 4, or as individuals and well make up teams. 3pm registration cut-off, bowls from 4-5:30pm.... The club will open from 2:30pm both days with food available and LIVE music from 4:30-6:30pm. On Sunday Joe West will be performing, followed by Jenny Marie Lang on Monday. *Please note, we will be closed on Saturday night for a private function * All welcome. We hope to see you here!

18.01.2022 District bowls returns this weekend. Willoughby Park has 6 teams entered in the Zone Pairs this weekend. It's a knock out with morning and afternoon matches on Sat and Sun. Good luck to the players and Go The Park !

15.01.2022 Willoughby Park Bowling Club has just shaved its No. 1 bowling green. The grass runners are ideal for anyone wanting to fix up a bare patch or redo a lawn. They are a couch variety and available now. All you have to do is spread it a few inches thick and water. The runners will keep for a few weeks if kept watered. The leftover runners will be taken away on Monday morning so be quick. The runners are available from 4th Ave just north of Robert Street. Call the club on 0411 870 848 for more info.

13.01.2022 Willoughby Park has 2 teams progressing to the 2nd round of the State Triples today. The first round saw two teams knocked out but the teams led by Brendan "Browny" Brown and John "Freezer" Freeman are on the green this afternoon at Harbord. Go the Park !!

10.01.2022 BUSH FIRE COLLECTION Were collecting again from 3-5pm today! It was heartwarming to see all the kids so enthusiastically involved yesterday. Today weve got young local bakers Ollie & Isabelle whipping up chocolate crackles as a thank you to those donating We hope to see you soon for a sweet treat!... A few people were asking where the goods are going and have mentioned the call-out from official sources to stop collecting. We would never want to put more strain on any of the major collection drop-off points. Fortunately, the wonderful people who are driving our truck are in direct contact with the smaller townships who are not yet being reached by charity organisations. Power is still out in many areas and food, water and essential basics are very much needed. 06.01.2022 WPBC WELCOMES PIONEER BREWING CO! We couldnt think of anything more Australian this weekend than offering our support to fellow Aussies who have been experiencing the effects of the ongoing drought. For our Australia Day celebrations this weekend, weve purchased product from Pioneer Brewing Co, based outside Orange, as a way of putting some money into the local economy. Pioneer Brewing Co is an inspiring family business. They grow their own barley and the waste goes to thei...r sheep. We will have Stockmans Lager and Jackeroo Lager on tap this Sunday and Monday. What better way to support drought affected communities than have a beer ? Cheers to that

04.01.2022 Pennants Round 2 The grade 3 side moved into 2nd place behind St Ives following a strong win over Dee Why on Saturday. As chance would have it next weeks opponent is St Ives at St Ives with the winner moving to the top of the table. Grade 6 has done it a bit tougher in the first two rounds having lost to Asquith and Chatswood. They host North Sydney next week and it would be good to get a win under the belt... Non-bowling members and guests are always welcome to watch and support the clubs teams in this competition between the northern suburbs bowling clubs. The kitchen is serving, the bar is open and hopefully the sun will be shining. Go The Park !

03.01.2022 COME DOWN TONIGHT FOR A SUNDAY CURRY! The people of Willoughby have spoken and they agree, our new caterers Manjits Wharf are serving great curries right here in Willoughby. Meals are available Thursday - Sunday evenings, and also on Monday 27th for our Australia Day celebrations.... Please spread the word and come down to support our new catering team
