18.01.2022 5 nights before Christmas So, some random info, did you know our front door colour was inspired and colour matched by my famous #unclebarry because I mentioned Id love it the same colour as the #kitchenaidmixer my mum gifted us from winning in a competition? A panel from the mixer was removed, taken to the local legends @haymespaintshop and #voilà our perfect red door!!!... Still love it almost 10 years later. Thanks to @therefinedbloomco for the beautiful natural wreath. Sorry my photography doesn’t do it justice. 17.01.2022 I know I’m a bit hopeless at posting but I couldn’t let this go by for another week without doing a massive shout out to some incredible people. A few weeks back one of our gorgeous couples had the misfortune of their band completely messing up the event date. It just goes to show no matter how much you can plan there is always a chance of human error. Within minutes of realising the band was a no show what happened next will stay with me forever as a venue host. A crew of... on site suppliers and staff and the couples core family and friends, rallied together to make a plan before revealing the situation to the newly weds. @tobitobi.co who had been playing all afternoon left their equipment for playlist to be played creating a seamless transition from cocktail hour into reception. Everything ran to plan and guests were non the wiser. Minutes before first dance was scheduled @steviekaze rocked up, set up and rocked the rest of the night away with a dance floor that didn’t stop, saving the night and in my opinion even better than the #bandthatwontbementioned You would think this was enough but I still remembered the tears shed by the bride when she realised their saxophonist wouldn’t be there. So who should also save the day but @seedy_man who drove up from Melbourne to play the last hour out with a DJ he had never meet and brought the dance floor even more alive and the biggest happy face from the bride that brought us all joy. Well if you’ve read this much you’re now up to what made me even prouder of what came from this blip (as I respectfully call it ) it was the Ballarat music industry. As you can imagine finding live music entertainment on a Saturday evening peak wedding, debutante, post lockdown times, was no easy task. The above guys saved the night but every single artist I contacted that night although already about to commence their own gigs went out of their way to recommend, refer, check progress be empathetic and were all an absolute pleasure to deal with. I was so overwhelmed by the kindness showed. I can’t remember all those I spoke withwithbut have tagged those that stood out. #loveballaratmusicindustry #wewillalwaysmakeaplan
