22.01.2022 Last Week the Children and Educators here Celebrated Diwali the Festival of Lights. The children made some traditional food, created some traditional art work and experienced some Traditional Henna artwork.

22.01.2022 ~BOOK WEEK DAY 3~ Today our kinder friends put on a parade for all the children to show off their costumes. The staff took part to parading their great costumes.

22.01.2022 ~BOOK WEEK~ Today we Celebrated the first day of book week! We had lots of children and educators dress up an participate in many book week activities!

20.01.2022 Our Children and Educators have been working extra hard for the past month to make our centre the most festive it has ever been. What better way to get into the festive spirit then with a friendly competition! We need your help to decide a winner! ... Below are the photos of all the room amazing decorations, have a look and decide which room you think is the best decorated. When voting please take into consideration that the teams were asked to use recycled materials for their Christmas trees. To cast your vote simply like the photo of the room you think has the best decorations! Each like will count as one vote and will be added to the votes our families are doing in the centre. Thank you for your help! (Voting Closes on the 18th December)

19.01.2022 Day 2 of party week was ‘Disco Day’!! In the morning we turned our blue room into a Disco with the lights off and The Wiggles and Baby Shark playing through the speakers the children danced and danced!

19.01.2022 We would like to announce the winner of our Room Decoration Competition... The Winner is .... The Toddler (Red) Room. Congratulations to the Red Room educators and children who worked very hard to create their ‘Red Room Christmas Wonderland’ for all the children and families to enjoy. ... Well done to all the other educators and children also who helped fill our centre with Christmas Magic. And a big Thank You to everyone who voted and helped us pick the winner. If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t of been able to decided!

19.01.2022 Over the weekend our dedicated Educators spent some time preparing and getting ready for the new room changes happening tomorrow. Here is a sneak peak of some of the new room set ups. Our educators are very excited to begin in their new rooms and get to build strong relationships with the children and families in those rooms!

18.01.2022 In our Pre Kinder 1 room we have been enjoying the book ‘Wombat Stew’ We decided it would be a great idea to make our own stew, using natural and recycled materials. Such as sand, rocks, wattle and water mixing them together in glass jars recycled from our kitchen. 4.3 manipulate objects with cause and effect, trial + error and motion. 4.1 use play to investigate, project and explore new ideas.

18.01.2022 ~BOOK WEEK DAY 2~ Yesterday the children enjoyed more fun activties and some photo shoots in their cute costumes!

17.01.2022 Tonight the dedicated staff at WELC had their first staff meeting in a long time. Callum from William McKenzie Consulting came out to refresh all the educators in Safe Handling within the childcare environment. It was a great refresher for all the educators to ensure safe handling in their everyday educating.

14.01.2022 Today was our last day of Party Week! We spent our day doing some Plaster Paintings! The children all loved painting the different plasters. There were lots of master pieces!

11.01.2022 This week our Children and Educators were very very lucky to receive a visit from Santa and his elf! The children were given the opportunity to go and visit Santa in our foya and let him know what they would like for Christmas and get a photo. The children were also lucky enough to get a special present from Santa. Some of the children enjoyed Santa more then others! ... Your Child’s Santa photo will be ready for you on Monday afternoon!

09.01.2022 Today we were lucky enough to have Farmer Darryl's Mobile Animal Farm come to the Centre for another fun day for party week. The children absolutely loved patting, feeding, brushing and holding the amazing animals Farmer Darryl brings!

08.01.2022 With everything going on in the world we thought we would bring some happiness to the children at WELC with ‘WELC PARTY WEEK’. Today was Day One. We spent the day doing lots of party activities and came dressed up in our favourite costumes! We even enjoyed some yummy party food!

05.01.2022 ~Exploring Emotions~ Our Toddlers have been working on exploring their emotions and how we show them. One of the ways they have been doing this is by creating their own faces and using objects to create different emotions. Play dough faces are one of the ways with the children rolling and pushing the play dough onto the face on the play dough mat to create emotions.... They have also used cut out objects to create their own faces. The children have full freedom to put the different elements on their face in anyway.

05.01.2022 We would like to wish all our families a ‘Happy Lunar New Year’. Our Kinder children have been busy creating this wonderful masterpiece to wish everyone a very Happy Chinese New Year. Supporting QA 6.2 ~ Collaborative partnerships enhance children’s inclusion, learning and wellbeing.

04.01.2022 Today was Jumping Castle Day for day 3 of party week. We were lucky enough to get two jumping castles. One big one out in the big yard for our Pre Kinder and Kinder Rooms and a little one in the foyer for our younger children.

04.01.2022 The time has come for our Annual Christmas Video! This year we got some extra help from a special guest!

02.01.2022 At WELC we are consistently updating our procedures to follow the COVID safe guidelines. A new change we have made is moving our iPads to the ‘Hello’ wall as you walk in the centre to provide less foot traffic in the foyer and a safe distance for the girls at the desk. Supporting Quality Area ~ 7.1.2 - Systems are in place to manage risk and enable the effective management and operation of a quality service.
