25.01.2022 Recently, the covid-19 virus situation has forced Lions to suspend meetings and to cancel the school public speaking competition. As of this morning, the government has banned external gatherings of more than 2 persons, subject to a fine of $1600. Unfortunately, this latest move results in us having to cease wood bees and firewood deliveries as well. There will therefore be no further deliveries for the foreseeable future, until such time as the virus position improves. Apologies to all our customers, and keep safe.
24.01.2022 Lions had fun catering for the Australia Day celebration by HECI at Hill End

22.01.2022 Thank you to all who supported us last night on the Annual Cake Walk. The purchase of cakes and puddings helps us promote Lions and the work we do in Willow Grove and the surrounding district. Your help is invaluable to us and gives us confidence that we can make a difference.

12.01.2022 After much thought and deliberation it has been decided that the Annual Junior Public Speaking Competition will not be held this year by our club.Though we would have liked to continue we felt that it was an unnecessary extra burden on the students and staff of the school at this time. We will continue to hold the competition in future years . Thank you to all who were concidering entry this year. Stay safe. Carol
08.01.2022 On behalf of Willow Grove Lions I would like to congratulate Sam, grade 3 Willow grove Primary School and Charlotte ,grade 5 Rawson Primary School on their efforts at the Junior Public Speaking competition today at Trafalgar. Even though you didn't progress to the next level you have done yourselves, your parents, teachers and school a great service. Be proud of today and hopefully you will continue with your public speaking. Good luck in the future with whatever you choose to do.
07.01.2022 On 16th & 17th February, Willow Grove Lions, ably assisted by a number of locals, put together 100 square bales donated by Lion Peter Connolly and 32 rolls of hay donated by David & Jill Jessop of Moe, using a tractor loaned by Ron & Barb Cameron. The hay was taken to Omeo on a semi and a trailer supplied by Chris Jordan and Peter Nation. A big thank you to the above and those who did the long drive, David Williams, Peter Nation, Chris Jordan, Mark Spillman and Ron Cameron.
05.01.2022 Congratulations to Chris and Qin Qin Grant on the arrival of our newest Lions member, Ella Susan, on 21 October 2019!
05.01.2022 Need for Feed - Willow Grove Lions Update On Sunday 21 June, Willow Grove Lions continued their work for Need for Feed by trucking 32 rolls of hay to Cobargo in NSW. You may have noticed some of the donated bales outside Con Versteden's place just out of Willow Grove. After the February run to Omeo, we held back to review just where the need was becoming more urgent, particularly with the advent of winter. The Need For Feed truck took the load on the 6 1/2 hour each way dri...ve, a sizable trip. Chris Jordan is doing a further run to Dargo on this Friday, 26 June, to a farmer burnt out by the fires and now out of feed. We are still looking for hay donations for this and other runs, so if you can spare a few bales, please ring Con Versteden (03 5635 2372), or David Williams (03 5635 2389). John Brasher See more
