25.01.2022 my little shadow - who loves yoga just like me. this term at SoHo Yoga kids class we are focussing on settling into our 'still quiet place', by practicing Mindfulness. by using our breath along with mindful movements - we can be fully present and find our "still quiet place'.



24.01.2022 last night I cried and couldnt sleep ~ my thoughts were racing with concern for my family and our planet ~ life as we know is changing ~ fast. this made me smile ~ went for a walk got my morning coffee and as I walked away I looked at my beautiful hand written message on the lid it made me realise amongst this chaotic wild time we are experiencing ~ it is forcing us to slow down ~ lets appreciate what we do have ~ our community, family, local coffee shops, the sky, sunrise,... this breath, this body, this moment..... this will be my class focus this week ~ appreciation - this body, this breath, this moment what do you appreciate right now?

24.01.2022 our next jewel ~ satya ~ truthfulness When we are real rather than nice, when we choose self-expression over self-indulgence, when we choose growth over the need to belong, we begin to understand the deeper dynamics of truthfulness, we begin to taste the freedom and goodness of satya. in our practice on the mat listening to the truth of your body ~ your body doesnt lie.... we practiced inversions with our little yogis and they learnt how to warm up slowly and build to our peak hand stand ~ listening to our bodies with compassion and kindness. Yamas are treasures we all need to live by. Om namaste

24.01.2022 heart is so heavy at the moment with our beautiful country in crisis ~ feeling guilty whilst on holidays and gazing around the beauty of local mountains and the ocean whilst human, animal lives and our country in severe danger. I do have deep gratitude for our communitys coming together to rally support, donations, group gatherings of meditation/prays and for slight reprieve with cooler weather and some rain. Take care of yourselves and loved ones as we love and support each other during this challenging time

23.01.2022 feeling so grateful to have taught a beautiful unwind teens workshop today. we explored techniques to help our bodies and minds to relax, rest and reduce stress and anxiety through breath and movement. Had some fun with partner games learning to trust and use language to guide our friends safely around our space. We took time to journal and reflect on our year, our accomplishments and the challenges we overcame. Then we dropped deeply into restorative poses.... Blissful zenned afternoon @ SoHo Yoga See more

19.01.2022 as the past decade and 2019 comes to an end ~ ~ Im ready to let go and move forward with my intentions set for 2020 and this next decade. ~ ~ this year has been the most challenging, heartbreaking year my family has ever endured. it has ripped us apart and exposed each of us to the bone. weve shed endless tears and emotions. ... ~ ~ I personally have had to open up past trauma that was never properly dealt with. ~ ~ Im so deeply proud of each of my family as we have worked tirelessly to get where we are on this last day of 2019. we have a lot to of work still to do, relationships to rebuild and trauma to deal with - but are all slowly healing. we have held together (many times I doubted if we could) and are stronger than ever as a tribe. ~ ~ what has kept me grounded and centred during this process was my regular yoga practice, teaching from my heart, my teachers who held space for me, daily meditation & breath work, our incredible non judgmental friends/family (whom Im enterally grateful for) & our fur babies for their unconditional love when we needed it most. ~ ~ much love, light & peace to all for this next journey of our lives OM Namaste See more

16.01.2022 kula is a Sanskrit word that can be translated as community, clan tribe. yoga denotes a sense of inclusion to all and belonging that can be cultivated through yogis coming together to practice. community is laughing together having some fun on our mats & holding space for each other. Community is learning how to let go of limiting thoughts, the opinions of others about us and all of the things that hold us back from truly expressing ourselves.... 01.01.2022 this is my home live streaming space - it has taken me a bit getting used to this new way of teaching. I love face to face teaching, love the energy we create together practicing & witnessing students connect with body, breath and drop into the moment. Considering our current crazy wild world at the moment how blessed are we to still stay connected ~ to breathe, mediate, move and hold space for each other in the safety of our own homes. I love still seeing my yogis friends v...irtually and then after we hang back and chat and check in with each other. This afternoon my beautiful mumma joined in - I cant see her at the moment, Im pleased I can offer her a chance to practice, feel safe and supported - then talk after class till my phone dies and kids and dogs start calling.
