23.01.2022 We would just like to apologise for the notes that are being sent home today and possibly in the future. As you can understand the photocopier has been getting a lot of use over the past week and therefore it has decided to add a bit of random colour to anything that is being copied. While they may not look the best it is still the best way for us to communicate with our families at this stage. With thanks Bronwyn

19.01.2022 Were encouraging students to return to school for term 2. Advice from SAs Chief Public Health Officer and Australias expert health body, AHPPC, remains uncha...nged. Schools, preschools and early childhood facilities are low risk environments for COVID-19, and should remain open. Parents and carers can choose to send their children to school, preschool or childcare, and feel confident that they are not placing their children at increased risk of COVID-19. See more

16.01.2022 Dear Willsden Primary School Community, Yesterday the Premier announced a 6 day state wide lockdown starting at midnight last night (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November. Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school or preschool / child care.... A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them. Please arrange to discuss this with myself if needed. All students who were in attendance Wednesday the 18th November were given a work take home pack. If your child was absent from school or did not receive a pack, please contact the school so we can make arrangements to provide work for your child. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions. Thank you for your support and for working with us to keep your family, our staff and community safe. Information is being updated frequently and we will keep you informed of any changes. Regards, Linda Ritchie Principal

15.01.2022 Dear Parents/Carers, I am writing to you to update you on changes that we have put in place to support our staff and students. These changes are not intended to cause any concerns, but rather to ensure we are all being proactive in keeping all school community members safe as directed. Student drop off and pick up - all families are drop off and collect their children in the quadrangle, teachers and support staff will be on hand in the morning and after school to assist wit...h this. Your students teacher will be available to talk to about any concerns at this time. Families are also asked if they need to drop off lunch or any other items for students, to do so at the Front Office and staff will arrange delivery. Parents are requested to not drop off items directly to the classroom. Parent Teacher Interviews these will no longer be face to face and will be provided via a phone call with your childs teacher on Tuesday 30th March between 2.30pm and 5.00pm. Government and Private Providers all non-essential services will no longer be coming onsite. Where possible contact will be maintained via phone or email. Hall Hire we have suspended all outside community groups hiring the gym ensuring that only our students and staff have access to this building. Self-Isolating if you are keeping your child home from school, we are in the process of developing packs to help you ensure your child is learning while they are at home. We are hoping these will be completed and ready for collecting soon. A post will be placed on Facebook when they are available or you may contact the school to make an enquiry. Communication - we have sent a note home this week to ask parents to please check their contact details and that of the emergency contacts listed for students. We will be keeping our school community informed of new information as soon as it is available to us. Please check your childs bag each night for notes and all information will be posted onto our Facebook page. If you have any concerns please contact myself or one of our leadership team. I would like to thank you all for all your support during these trying times. Yours sincerely, Linda Ritchie Principal

08.01.2022 Dear families, As you are aware we are confronting challenging times in regard to the COVID-19 virus. It has been recommended that we help prevent the spread of this virus by taking precautionary measures. As of today and for the remainder of this term, we are asking our families to drop students off outside of the foyers to limit contact between families and students. We thank you for supporting our school community need in keeping everyone safe at this time.... Kind regards, Linda Ritchie

08.01.2022 Willsden Primary School community is deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs Raelene Gwydir. Mrs Gwydir was a dedicated and passionate teacher whose career at Willsden spanned 22 years. She began working with us on the 01/02/1987, transferring from Maree and remained at Willsden until her retirement from teaching on the 11/12/2009. Being a longstanding teacher at the one school enabled Mrs Gwydir to teach many generations of the same family giving her a strong connection with... the school community. Mrs Gwydir was a well-respected member of the school and wider community and she will be fondly remembered for contribution to the education of past students at Willsden Primary School. Mrs Gwydir was a dedicated teacher right till the very end, passing away on the 22/06/2020 at 3.45pm as she told her daughter she has to wait until school had finished. We pass on our condolences to Mrs Gwydirs family on behalf of the school community. See more

03.01.2022 Dear parent/caregiver, The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. Willsden Primary School had a Student Free Day planned and this has been cancelled, as a result the school will be open and operating as normal on Monday. We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated... with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. Unfortunately due to restrictions around families accessing the school we are unable to have volunteers on site at this stage. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at school Monday. Regards, Linda Ritchie Principal See more
