23.01.2022 Music can improve surgeon performance and efficiency (Lies and Zhang 2015) but lead to more mistakes and miscommunication (Way et al. 2013). Regardless, if music is played it’s important to eliminate distractions in theatre during critical phases of operation (Schafer et al 2015) for the safety of the patient.
