24.01.2022 Meet Bubs, Bubs is a 100kg ewe that came in for emergency abdominal surgery a few weeks ago after presenting with inappentence, lethargy and ruminal tympany. After not responding to medical treatment, it was decided late Saturday evening that it was time for Dr. Simon to perform abdominal surgery and resolve the problem. It was found that her intestines were full of gas and a section had to be opened and the contents emptied. Luckily the surgery was a success and we are pleased to say Bubs has made a full recovery!

23.01.2022 We all want our furry friends to enjoy the festive season. However it is important remember there is a lot of Christmas food that dogs (and cats) should avoid. We also recommend steering clear of bones and corn on the cob which can cause bowel obstructions, and fatty foods which can cause tummy upsets. Christmas food your pets can enjoy include skinless, boneless meat and vegetables like carrots, pumpkin and potatoes. Just remember everything in moderation!

18.01.2022 Do you know how many kittens a female cat could have in her lifetime? Using the average statistics of 4 kittens per litter, 3 times per year for 15 years makes a total of 180 kittens over a lifetime! Thats a lot of kittens!! We always recommend you get both female and male cats desexed to avoid unwanted litters. For the month of July we are offering discounted desexing, so now is the perfect time to get your cat desexed

18.01.2022 An important reminder that dogs don’t always enjoy fireworks as much as we do and can often find them quite scary! If you are going out tonight, make sure that your yard is secure and that your dog has a safe place to hide and plenty of distraction, including things like Kongs or leaving the tv or radio on. If you do find a stray dog, Facebook pages like Lost Pets of South Australia are a great resource to get them home quickly. ... Have a fun and safe night everyone! See more

13.01.2022 We are sure you are all aware that as of tonight our state is entering a strict 6 day lockdown. Veterinary services are still considered essential, and at this stage we will continue to operate as normally as we can under the new restrictions. If you are coming to either clinic please take note of the following rules: - call from the car when you arrive rather than coming straight in.... - pay by contactless methods including card or over the phone if you can. - only one person to come into the clinic with your pet/s. - maintain social distancing, use hand sanitizer provided and wear a mask as per lockdown protocols. - please do not come into the clinic if you are supposed to be self isolating, have recently been in contact with anyone who is supposed to be self isolating, have had a COVID-19 test and are awaiting results or if you are feeling unwell. We understand that this is a stressful time and we will do everything we can to keep you updated. Please be patient with our staff in clinic and on the phone, we are doing everything we can to keep you, your pet and ourselves safe and healthy.

13.01.2022 We are fast approaching that time of year again! Snakes have been spotted out and about in this warmer weather, which means our pets are at risk of getting bitten. Reducing rubbish and long grass around the yard and keeping dogs on a lead when going for a walk can help reduce this risk. If you think your pet may have been bitten by a snake, it is important you get them to a vet ASAP.

06.01.2022 Avoid the Bunpocalypse! Did you know that a pair of breeding rabbits can produce approximately 84 kits a year? Imagine if those 84 rabbits go on to have 84 babies a year! You can see how quickly it would add up Getting your rabbit desexed not only helps reduce the number of unwanted rabbits, but can also help improve your rabbits quality of life.
