24.01.2022 I installed this piece yesterday at Stonyfell. The clients were so excited they were out on the footpath waiting for me to arrive. I think it fills the space beautifully. Thanks Pete

24.01.2022 50th 60th 70th Birthday presents Pick something you love and get your friends to pitch in and pay for it. Terrific

18.01.2022 Love being at the Forge on Saturday

17.01.2022 Happy 50th Mel. Nice to choose your own present

17.01.2022 We installed these gates and fence panels up at Stirling this week. It’s the first time we’ve used the farm gate design for the fence panels and it works very nicely. As always the ironwork is a bit difficult to see but very happy clients.

12.01.2022 Nice little installation to finish the week. Simple stair rails to replace the existing bent pipe that was there before which didn’t really go with the terrific old facade of the church. Sellicks Beach rd. Next pic is a half spree that I delivered a while ago but only just got to photograph. Cheers

11.01.2022 Well i almost feel guilty saying it but it’s been a fantastic year here at Willunga Forge. It’s been the busiest year I’ve had and I’ve been fortunate enough to meet a lot of very interesting people with great ideas that I’ve been able to turn into reality for them. I’ve also had time and money to develop and work on my own ideas. Especially over the last 6 months I’ve been experimenting with my spheres and have received great feedback and achieved some lovely results. I’v...e also had time to expand our vegetable gardens, plant another 60 native trees from seeds propagated on the property and have installed a huge solar system on the workshop roof. All very positive steps towards self sufficiency. I’d like to thank everyone for their ongoing support through what could have been a very difficult year. Your commissions and purchases from the Forge are what keep me going and allow me to follow my passion that has lasted 30 years so far. Ill leave you with the final piece to come from the Forge this year. Cheers Pete See more

08.01.2022 It’s been the busiest at the Forge that I can remember and here’s some pics of the latest things we’ve made. The first is a what do you think of this stuff I’ve found in the shed? gate. The next is a 60th birthday present delivered on the day much to the delight of the birthday boy. Third a security door for terrific clients in Willunga. 4 commissions in and they keep thinking of more wonderful things to be made. Thanks very much Lena and Chris. The next is the forge lo...aded up with steel at the start of the forging process. 40 odd pieces from 12-16mm bar all to be drawn out and pointed. Then the finished piece. The next are new spheres to replace ones recently sold. Each one an original forged and formed from an idea never recorded. Next a piece being delivered up to town on Thursday and finally a garden arch delivered up to the old chaff mill just out of Willunga. The arch is good but the transformation of the old mill is remarkable! When I first saw it years ago it was a ruin struggling to stay together, today a very sophisticated and unique accommodation retreat that looses nothing of the building that envelops it. Thanks Pete. 07.01.2022 We installed this garden arch in Stirling today. 2.7m tall, 1.5m wide and .8m deep It was made in 3 pieces so we could get it up the hill and then concreted in and bolted together. Bugger of an installation but lovely result. There’s already a large old Wisteria vine ready shoot straight away. I really enjoy adding to an already beautiful garden. ... Thanks See more

06.01.2022 Due to an overwhelming need to get away and be reeaaalllyyy cold and wet this weekend we’re going to Kangaroo Island so the Forge will be closed on Saturday. Sorry for any inconvenience. Meanwhile here’s a pic a client from Bordertown has sent through. Good to see the locals appreciating fine ironwork and the 3rd matching gate for the property. Thanks Vaughn

05.01.2022 I delivered the 70th birthday present this week to a beautiful garden on a very soft hills day. Delightful. I’ve also done 2 more arches. The first a commission, the second ones at the forge. Thanks Pete

04.01.2022 Love making these.

02.01.2022 Its been a very satisfying week. I received a terrific response to my last post featuring the spheres that I’ve recently finished so thank you very much. Such a terrific response in fact that both of the vine spheres have sold! Yesterday I delivered the half sphere to Norwood and today I delivered and installed the full sphere to a beautiful house in Pt Willunga. Such an instant response to new ideas doesn’t happen too often and means I can explore further ideas while the iron is hot. Also many thanks to Suzie and Ben for the wonderful article in SA LIFE magazine which is out now. A great momentous in my 30th year.

01.01.2022 It’s been a week of deliveries and installations. Although hard to see the first pic is a large sliding gate with a grape vine woven through the bars. 4.8m long and 1.7m high. Located in St. Peter’s tce Willunga Next is an Armillary sphere. The formality of the piece balances very nicely with the informality of the house where there isn’t one straight line. The next series of pics are stair railings and a security door. The railing was going to be just straight bars with a little decorative detail. After we installed the door the clients decided normal just wasn’t going to be good enough. Good call Rachel and Shane. Thanks Finally a new piece for the Forge. Made of stainless steel, bronze, mild steel and Cypress pine. All these commissions are from Willunga locals so thanks very much. Cheers Pete
