24.01.2022 Yesterday's mision was backlining the heifer mob and weighing the calves . Then we walked them 3 hours to a new paddock . So it was an early start , to get them to their paddock before it got too hot , it was over 30 degrees by the time we got them to the trough , and we were all a bit hot and bothered. Today its a bit cooler and we will backline the main mob and see how heavy their calves are . Yesterday we had a few calves over 300 kg already, putting on over a kilo a day easy .

17.01.2022 Two of the three speckle park x 2019 born calves we kept as bulls . We sold one earlier on this year and these two need a new home at some stage. Havent been spoilt, paddock feed and doing awesome. Weighed today at 586 kg and 522 kg .

15.01.2022 Finally , finished calving . According to the dates of when the bulls came out of the herd , we should of been finished 6 weeks ago , but a naughty young bull , escaped the bull paddock a couple of times , and then ended up in a big time-out in the yards ( lockup) , and we think the cow actully miscarried early in her first pregnancy, as she should of calved in april , and troops (bull) happened to get lucky on one of his breakouts . So we have a wee speckle x whitey cow heifer .
