25.01.2022 2nds - Semi Final update: CYs 3/73 after 20 overs. Play to continue Sunday! After being sent in to bat, CYs were in early trouble at 3/25. However Mullaly 36no & Williams 12no have staged an excellent recovery to have us at 3/73 off 20. At the drinks break, the rain fell heavier. So the covers are on, and play will resume tomorrow @ 1pm.

24.01.2022 Best of luck to all the Cy’s juniors who commence their seasons this weekend after a bit of a delay. This year we are encouraging parents to send in their best action shots of their kids so we can upload them onto our socials. Below is a photo of u15 player Hamish Cooper after a handy knock last year. #gocys

17.01.2022 Another successful week for the Cys has seen all 4 senior teams get a win. The highlight was a magnificent 114 from Nico Mullaly which lead the 2s to another comfortable victory. This year we will be awarding a player of the week award courtesy of our friends at ChoksPot Williamstown. The winner will receive a breakfast voucher. As we didn’t post the winner last week we would like to congratulate both Nico and Matthew Brown for their efforts in the first two weeks. We would also like to thank Chokspot for kindly donating vouchers to both the best junior and senior player of the week throughout the season.

17.01.2022 Following a very strong start to the season last week, we move into a really exciting week for the history of our club. Our women’s team will play their first game on Sunday afternoon at the Fearon. Thanks to the great work done by Richo Heath and Nico Mullaly in helping the girls get ready for this week. On behalf of everyone at the Cys we would like to wish everyone involved the best of luck. You can find info for all of our games for the week below: 1s vs Werribee Central’s @ Galvin Park from 1pm 2s vs Werribee Central’s @ the Fearon from 1pm (Bar open from 12) 3s vs Seddon @ Hanmer Reserve from 12pm on Sunday

12.01.2022 PREMIERS In what is an overdue post, the CYs Women’s side won the GF on Saturday in front of a large crowd at the Fearon. Winning the toss and bowling first, the girls were outstanding in the field restricting Glenroy to 82. However, Grand Final’s are never easily won and things got rather tense when CYs were 8 down with 15 to win and only a few overs remaining but the girls held their nerve and came through victorious in a great display of cricket!! In the Men’s 3rds GF, CYs came up just short, losing by 10 runs in a gritty game out at Laverton. Although they finished 2nd, the team had a great season with promising signs for the future!

09.01.2022 It’s always a special moment when a player receives their First XI cap on debut, and it was fantastic to have John Neenan on hand to present Sean Clarke with his cap on Saturday. Some of the magic must have rubbed off too, with Sean going on to make an instrumental 53 as the side chased down Newport Digman’s 163.

07.01.2022 GRAND FINAL BOUND Another great weekend for the club was capped off by our 2nd XI making the grand final after a tight win against Greenvale yesterday. Campbell Menzies starred with a brilliant 49 off 36 balls and 2/18(8). Nico Mullaly(46) and Bryce Williams(29) both played crucial innings in steadying the ship after we lost some early wickets. With the ball Matthew Brown(3/17) and Jacob Splatt(2/16) did great jobs in the later stages of the game. Next week will see us play against Sydenham Hillside with details yet to be confirmed. In the mean time here are some great photos of the day taken by Bill Millar.

07.01.2022 Thanks to all the Cys faithful who have donated, we’ve raised $4.3k so far. If you’d still like to donate before we finish up this week here’s the link to our team xx. Ps Here’s the mo update https://au.movember.com/team/2379848

02.01.2022 SEMI-FINAL - 2nd XI The CYs 2nd XI will be playing in their semi-final tomorrow against Greenvale at the Fearon. It should be a cracking contest with plenty of young talent in the CYs side so get down and support the lads from 1pm. Bar open from 12pm... Note: Rain is expected and if the forecast is accurate and no cricket is played, the match will be played on Sunday.

02.01.2022 Another big weekend for the club with two Grand Finals! On Sunday our girls will aim to win a premiership in their first year while the 3rds will go in hoping to upset Laverton CC.
