22.01.2022 To truly treat pigmentation effectively we must first understand the causes behind it, so let me introduce you to the melanocyte cell. This guy LOVES to party at every chance he gets and is also known to be a little sensitive and over protective. However personality flaws aside, the melanocyte serves a very important purpose as a protector of your skin cells. He does this by producing little hats called melanin that he deposits into the cells that work to prevent the suns U...VA and UVB from damaging the cells DNA which if you ask me is pretty cool Unfortunately his sensitive and over protective nature will pick up on any internal imbalance such as stress and inflammation which in turn causes him to start producing too much melanin which is then seen as pigmentation over the skin. Stay tuned to learn about what triggers the melanocyte cell to go into over drive! See more
21.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads in the world Swipe to see a very awkward 90’s photo of me with my Dad . The smile full of braces and the ears that earned me the name Gumby at school (aren’t kids lovely)
12.01.2022 Ok so we learnt about the cell behind pigmentation in the last post but let’s get to know a bit about what causes him to go into over drive! The causes can be broken into two categories - Inflammatory pigmentation and passive pigmentation. Inflammatory is usually caused by external factors and is the easiest to treat as once it’s treated it doesn’t tend to make a habit of returning. Causes of inflammatory pigmentation are too much sun exposure, trauma to the skin or product ...reactions. Passive pigmentation is caused by internal imbalances (which can than be further exacerbated by external factors). Stress, medications, menopause, hormonal imbalances and illnesses are some of the few culprits to trigger a passive pigmentation response in the skin. This kind of pigmentation can be much more stubborn to treat but results can still be achieved with 100% commitment and consistency. Next post we’ll talk about the best ways to treat pigmentation See more

03.01.2022 Back onto the topic of pigmentation. We’ve spoken about the the how and the why so let’s now delve into what we can do to help prevent and revise pigmentation. Firstly as with any skin condition this is not a one treatment, one product fix, instead it’s going to involve several treatments using different formulations and modalities in clinic along with a commitment to using home products ongoing. One thing I can guarantee when treating pigmentation is that if we stop maintai...ning and protecting our skin, it will reappear so it’s extremely important to look at this as a bit of a lifestyle change. For in clinic treatments we use a combination of our Enzyme Therapy, Alkaline, peels and Skin Needling. The frequency will depend on your unique needs. As for home care your products will most likely include our @dmkskin melanotech drops, herbal pigment oil, melanotech creme, super bright and revitosin, along with internal supplements such as the EFA ultra and @regul8health Relax. If you’re not in love with your pigmentation and want to be guided onto the right path head to the link in our bio to book in for our First Timer treatment so we can discuss a plan for you Image via Pinterest
02.01.2022 Hi, it’s me It seems to be a year of babies and with that I’m getting a lot of questions on whether spray tans and our Willow skin treatments are pregnancy safe and the proof is in the photo Here you can see I am tanned in our @bellabronzetans mocha solution, honestly there is no way you will catch me at an event without a tan What you can’t see is two days prior to this event myself and Mr Willow both had a @dmkskin Enzyme therapy treatment to give us an extra glow. At Willow we will always adapt your treatment to where you are at in life, so if you are trying or expecting a baby we will ensure we only use our pregnancy safe options
