16.01.2022 Hello! I've been a bit quiet on here the last couple of weeks. Has been a combination of having a break, clearing the sleep debt and re-grounding/personal reflection. Starting to feel refreshed and in a much better head space While I am grateful for the work at the other job, juggling the all nights roster and keeping the wheels turning with the different projects on the go was starting to take its toll. I'm a bit of a "Yes" man and constantly biting off more than I can c...hew Here's to a new season with limits put in place and not saying yes to everything I've been chipping away at the workshop working on a waterfall coffee table, has been a 4 stage glue up to get to this point, investing in a biscuit jointer has been great! Nearly ready to chop it to final sizes and then work on the C-shape frame! How are you travelling? @ Wilson Technical Services

16.01.2022 Today's plan was to denail and mill up a big stack of different slats to get back on track with some furniture making.. but then I started feeling guilty making so much noise on a public holiday So back to some alternate job jobs from the back log. Scratched the itch to get creative and try some new techniques for a bit of a break this arvo and made this clock Recycled the top of the coffee table I built a while ago and fitted some clock hardware I ordered recently. Routed out some markers and backfilled with some 5 minute epoxy, coloured with spray paint. Stoked with the results!

15.01.2022 Modified my dust collection this afternoon, made my own 3-way splitter box and re-ran the 3 vac lines, recycled some of the old blast gates I made a while ago Feels good to be back in the workshop and clearing some more items from the back log I've been a bit quiet on here this past month or so. I picked up a bit of shutdown work/shift cover and then had a chance to get away down to Albany for a week. Feel like I've blinked and missed the last month ... Feeling refreshed and ready to get some new routines in place now!

14.01.2022 And that's a wrap on the painting part of the revamp, for now. Had to force myself to stop before I painted every single thing in the workshop There's still a bit of re arranging to be done including building a drill press cart snd bringing in my radial arm saw which I have had stored at a friend's house for the past few years What do you think of the all black walls? May need to invest in an air purifier to keep the dust levels down even further @ Wilson Technical Services

14.01.2022 So much room for activities! Finished up the workshop revamp this arvo, has been quiet therapeutic painting, cleaning and sorting Ready to get back into making sawdust on Monday! Soooo keen! @ Wilson Technical Services

11.01.2022 Have had limited windows of time in the workshop lately so the filming has been put on hold for now as I try to get the backlog cleared out. Got up to the first coat of finish on the waterfall coffee table I'm building at the moment! My favourite part of making stuff is always applying that first coat! Makes all the hours of sanding worth it I'll be making a steel frame to replace the temporary legs tomorrow This is a combination of left over panels, old decking boards and a few pallet slats, all reclaimed

10.01.2022 The office space set up a bit more permanently nowIt made me sad seeing the recording/production gear in boxes on the shelf so I set them up too I forgot how much I love these studio monitors function over form at the moment.. will be designing a nicer desk once I get these few builds finished! I've been wearing my @e13arts hats prodominantly the last couple of weeks. It's really nice events are starting to fire up again, so have been busy with hires, planning and even some maintenance. Going to get stuck in to some building tomorrow

05.01.2022 Throwback to my original set up at the current workshop, a little over a year ago! Some big improvements done since then Have been going through photo's today and so many memories here. I do not miss the old pink walls in the front rooms one bit though! Can't wait to share what else is going on here. I will be open on Boulder Market Day this Sunday, 9-1pm.

04.01.2022 Cold and rainy day in Kal today was nice painting weather. More progress on the workshop revamp Finished painting the walls! I had joked about painting the dust collection, did a little bit and it looks pretty neat, so went ahead and painted it all I got injured at hockey last weekend, got hit in the chin with the ball thankfully was able to get glued back up. It has put me out of action a bit on the building front, hence the painting and design work happening in the back ground! My chin is nearly healed fully, so looking forward to being able to wear a respirator and get cracking back into it!

04.01.2022 First time in about 5 weeks having a clean workshop and clean floor even the store rooms are tidy was very satisfying wiping down all the benches and mopping the floor last night. Didn't quite make a dent as big as I would have liked on the backlog this week but there's always next week Now heading off on a little weekend getaway with the Wifey, celebrating 5 years of marriage!

04.01.2022 In true hoarder fashion, I had some old steel frames in the yard which I was able to chop down and use for the end frame for this waterfall coffee table build. Exchanged saw dust for sparks. Set up the drop saw, grinder and gasless mig. After a quick practice weld and getting the welder dialled in, the frame came together nicely. A bit more clean up, then paint and fit! Got another couple coats of finish on table piece too Keen to see it all together! Are you a fan of the timber/steel combo? @ Wilson Technical Services

03.01.2022 After another bit radio silence I'm back! I got let go from my other job a couple of weeks ago. Bittersweet emotions but back on track now. Took a week off to re adjust back to normal from the stint of night shift swings. This week has been all about cleaning, sorting and the old fire barrel got a good work out Installed a door to my store room and then painted it "abyss" black. Caught the painting bug again and painted the other door and rest of the wall around the wor...kbench A new season and time to set up new routines! Feeling excited again when I get to the workshop! Have got a bit in the pipeline for my own restructure, watch this space! See more

03.01.2022 Turned into a bit of a hermit again this last night fortnight have been missing my mojo lately. I made a mistake on the dimensions of the waterfall coffee table I had been making, made it exact some dimensions as the chase that it was supposed to roll over oh well I have a nice coffee table for home now can chalk this one up as a prototype. Round two commencing soon. I hadn't been cleaning as I go, jerk move. Have spent this lot of days off from the other job ti...dying the workshop up and pulled everything out of the store room, fitted more racking and improvised a built in lumber/sheet goods storage space. Heaps better than the 10% organised system I had before. I have a lot more sheet goods than I remember maybe time to make some tool storage caddies. I also moved my dust collector up onto the racking and changed the vac line gate setup, working really well so far Feels like I'm getting my mojo back again, hoping to start filming some builds soon again too!
