25.01.2022 Walking with God (by Areeya) Throughout my life, I was raised in a Buddhist family and was generally not religious. The things I did and places I went to were o...ut of familial duties and familiar habits. I was very sceptical and usually complained when I had to pray or go to temples. Honestly, I was living my life pretty aimlessly day by day with stubbornness in my heart. I didn’t have solid life goals and had really bad habits like waking up late, sleeping late and being late to appointments. I remember that the decisions I made back then were often influenced by friends or boyfriends: which university I wanted to study at, which country I wanted to study in, and which classes to take. . . . ------------------------- Read the full story at https://www.hope-church.com.au/our-stories (link in bio) #TestimonyTuesday #myhopefamily

24.01.2022 What we want isn't always what we need (by Hli Vang) In 2013, I came to know the Lord through Hope Church. Although I had encountered God on numerous occasions ...since the age of 9, I never knew Him until I began walking with God at 20. I made the most significant decision of my life to walk away from friends, relationship and even family (who are non-Christians) to pursue a God I hardly knew. Life did not get easier after receiving Christ, but it sure got interesting. During my early years with Christ, I pursued a 6-year relationship with a guy at church. We were crazy in love and head over heels. But just like every Korean Drama, when life was going great, the unexpected happened; his father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Both our worlds shattered and our faith was shaken. . . . I knew that God was up to something, but I could not understand it nor see it at the time. ------------------------- Read the full story at https://www.hope-church.com.au/our-stories (link in bio) #TestimonyTuesday #myhopefamily

21.01.2022 Breaking Self-Reliance (by Sarah Andrews) I would like to share with you about a time where God spoke to me in the area of self-reliance. A couple of years ago,... something happened in my family that shook everyone. I had grown up with the constant feeling that I had to be strong. I could not openly share my deepest thoughts or show everything that I was feeling to others, or even how other’s words or actions fully affected me. One of the reasons I struggled was the feeling that if I ever opened up, I would be considered weak. So, as the eldest child who had to grow up before her time, I took to acting strong. Even though I had always known God, I think I unknowingly let a lot of self-reliance into my life. As a result of the different things I had experienced growing up, I subconsciously built walls around my heart; never fully able to let people or God in, never fully allowing them to support me. . . . ------------------------- Read the full story at https://www.hope-church.com.au/our-stories (link in bio) #TestimonyTuesday #myhopefamily

20.01.2022 ADVANCE WEEKLY: Hope Liberia: Goodness of God Even in the midst of challenges and uncertainties, we see can still see God moving to touch many lives. We give thanks to God and celebrate His goodness for two recent events that have happened in our church in Liberia. 1. Water Baptism... Hope Gbarnga conducted a water baptism on Sunday, September 6, 2020. It was a remarkable experience seeing 10 members immersed in water in the early morning hours of Sunday; 7:30 am to 8:35 am. The 3 men and 7 women were taught about the significance of water baptism in a class before the ceremony. We thank God for adding 10 new members to our church family. 2. Revival Meetings Hope Gbarnga held a 7-day revival and teaching sessions. Many new people came to the meetings. God touched many people and they accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour. The Lord was doing great and marvellous works in our midst: the sick were healed and souls were coming into the Kingdom of God. We rejoiced in the goodness of God. To God be all the glory. 14.01.2022 Having dealt with so many people in different phases of their journey of faith, it made me think: Why is it some gain hope from God's Word others do not? The Word of God gives hope to those who place their trust in it. Psa 119:49 (NIV) Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. When we trust in God’s promises, we gain hope of what the future holds. Hope develops when we trust in the fulfilment of a promise. ... I used to think, God why do you not deliver on all of these promises in your Word? But now I think, what is holding me back from experiencing all of these fully? Because I have come to the conviction that God’s promises are true but often it is our inadequacies that hinder our fully experiencing God’s promises. The sad thing is there are many Christians who try to explain away some of God’s promises because they don’t seem to experience it. #PsWilsonLimInsight #Godspromises #hope #GodsWord
13.01.2022 Why is it many Christians do not experience the hope promised in God's Word? Imagine if the boat you were on capsized in the middle of the ocean. A rescue helicopter flies out to you and tries to winch you to safety. You get unto the rope harness but change your mind half-way. Thinking perhaps the helicopter is not the safest way to be rescued. Then just as the helicopter is about to fly away, you change your mind and decide you better get on the helicopter. When they fin...ally lower the rescue harness to you, you change your mind again. If you keep this up, the helicopter may finally leave without you. Double-mindedness will ruin even the hope that has been offered. So one key reason is because some have failed to hold steadfast to God and His promises. James 1:6 - 8 (NIV) 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a doubleminded man, unstable in all he does. Such a double-minded man will not receive the hope and blessings that God intended. Let's be steadfast. #steadfast #standfirminthefaith #dontdoubt #havefaith #pslailinginsight
12.01.2022 I would like to testify about God’s goodness in my life. A few months ago, I received a call from my manager informing me that I was exposed to a COVID-19 positive patient. The management limited my movement and exposure and also asked me monitor myself of any symptoms. This caused me to avoid the church, my friends, and family. At this point, I experienced people being afraid of me. I felt offended, lonely, and scared. It was like being trapped in a pit where none can save ...me. Despite all of this feeling, there was a gentle voice within me saying not to fear for He is here. Then, I was reminded of my devotion a long time ago on Jeremiah 41:10. It says, Do not be afraid for I am with you. Instantly, I felt that there is someone with me fighting this unseen enemy. I asked for prayers from my shepherd and from Pastor Mayette. I also felt how people became concerned especially my mom. The feeling of being alone disappeared and I saw how God has been protecting me and has been giving me blessings. A few weeks later, the management conducted a throat and nasal swab test. Praise God, I was declared negative! I thank God for His covering. At present, I still remain negative despite being exposed to many patients who have COVID-19 symptoms. I am constantly praying and claiming for His protection as I continue in the line of duty. 09.01.2022 ADVANCE WEEKLY: Hope Taipei Camp - Encounter God For churches around the world, 2020 is a year full of challenges but also an exciting year for God's mighty work. We are grateful for God’s grace and protection. We held our annual camp from August 22 to 24 as scheduled. Our overseas brothers and sisters were not able to participate in our camp this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, all participants are our local families and there were nearly 80 people who partici...pated in the camp. The theme of this year's camp is "Encounter God", and I shared five points of the ten core values of HIM. I would like to reaffirm the importance of our core values so that all brothers and sisters can understand God’s will for the church and are willing to commit themselves to this spiritual family. During the camp, we had various group presentations and relaxing leisure time. People enjoyed their time spent together. Group discussions after each teaching session helped everyone to get to know each other more deeply. We enjoyed times of worship because those were moments of encountering Him. On the first night of the camp, after sharing the core value of We are Covenantal People, we encouraged couples and family members to reconcile with each other as well as encouraging brothers and sisters to express honor to the leaders. We sensed God’s tender love touching those who opened their hearts to Him. In the second night’s worship session, the congregation was drawn even closer to God. I prayed and cried out to God for more. I sensed the Spirit of God comforting and healing the brothers and sisters in different corners of the hall. God is awesome. I saw God’s hand moving among us during the camp. His love is transformed people’s lives and I believe that there is more to come. Give all the glory to the Lord for what He did in midst of us. 04.01.2022 A Personal God (by Ellen Tejo) Growing up with a pretty comfortable life, I never felt the need for a God or a higher being to feel sufficient. I got curious... when I was first introduced into Christianity through my primary education. The idea of God fascinated me. So I started going to church when my friends invited me to find out more about who this God is. I remember professing my belief in Christ not long after. However, I did not have a personal relationship with God, as I preferred the conservative idea of God as the powerful higher being, worthy to be worshipped. It was more logical for me to think that way: why would an all-powerful, mighty king want to have a personal relationship with a simple mortal like me? 04.01.2022 We must be careful what we feed our minds. We should beware of foolish ideas that corrupt our minds, our perspectives. Beware of uncritically accepting such ideas, simply because some people are very eloquent in expressing their ideas or because it looks so bright and shiny. 2 Timothy 2:16-18 (NIV) 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. 17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philet...us, 18 who have wandered away from the truth. In effect, if we immerse ourselves in it, it will draw us away from God. #mindset #perspective #pswilsonliminsight
