22.01.2022 YEAR 7 CAMP - DAY 2 Another glorious day today and a bunch of very tired students tonight. Second day of camp saw the kids become creative, resourceful and fearsome. Creating kites, constructing catapults, canoeing across the lake and abseiling down a sheer cliff. Great day had by all. It was also great to see Miss Sippel and Mrs Sheales join us for today’s action.

20.01.2022 Today the year 11 students in Miss Rehner’s class were set a challenge to decorate cupcakes to be presented on a 2 tier stand. The challenge was to create a different design for each and to create a filling for each.



20.01.2022 Last week we held our Wilsonton's Got Talent competition! We were so impressed with the range of talent on show and our students' willingness to share their talent with the school. Thanks to all the competitors and to our supportive crowd! Congratulations to Jesse Ross who took out first prize!

15.01.2022 Our students in Year 7 & 8 Japanese have been busy looking at anime this term. They have drawn themselves as an anime character and written a children’s book using the language structures they have been learning and the character they drew.

15.01.2022 TOUCH NEWS This afternoon we travelled down the range to play touch football against Lockyer District in preparation for our All Schools Touch Competition next term. Each of our students utilised the skills they’ve developed at training in order to be prepared for the challenge next term.

14.01.2022 Great afternoon organised by Mr Silver for our very excited team of Yazidi soccer players. We hosted the four Toowoomba SHS teams in some very exciting and passionate games. Junior girls, junior boys, senior girls and the blockbuster Senior boys. The buzz around the grounds was electric, which will see this format definitely be run again in 2021! Congratulations to everyone involved.

14.01.2022 The year 8 students in Miss Rehner’s class continue to display exceptional kitchen safety, hygiene and cooking skills. On Friday made healthy sausage rolls.

13.01.2022 YEAR 7 CAMP - Final Day Today, saw the final day of the Year 7 camp. The students completed the assortment of activities, rotating through Archery and Bushwalking or Kite Building and Team Games. Yet again, they proved their worth to complete all activities with distinction. The camp staff were very complementary of our students for their polite outgoing nature!! A massive congratulations to Miss Miller, Year 7 co-ordinator, for all the hard work and efforts time sure this camp was a success!! Great work everyone!

12.01.2022 Today Miss Rehner’s year 11 hospitality class made Christmas sugar cookies.

10.01.2022 Today our year 10, 11 and 12 Drama students worked with USQ Creative Arts student Jordon Riley. They worked with Jordon workshopping a script and program she is creating. This was an excellent opportunity for our students to not only work with an emerging artist but to also gain an understanding of the creative and facilitating process and the way drama can be used as a tool for exploring issues- in this case healthy relationships. This is part of our growing partnership with USQ will provide real life arts learning opportunities and will form a key part of our soon to be launched MADDness Collective- stay tuned for more!

09.01.2022 Year 7A Japanese and Year 8 Japanese students have been experiencing Japanese culture by trying on traditional Japanese clothing. They have also designed a poster representing a season in Japan.

09.01.2022 Today the year 10 students in Miss Rehner’s class made Spicy mozzarella meatballs.

07.01.2022 Our level one EALD students worked together to sort animals into their home environment such as aquatic, semi-aquatic and land based. We have also been learning about animal groups such as mammals, birds, amphibians, fish and reptiles.

07.01.2022 Conquering our fears and showing resilience on year 11 camp. We have done the high ropes abseiling catapult softball and a full on competitive game of duck duck goose. Everyone is having a great time!

06.01.2022 YEAR 7 CAMP Day 1 of our camp is nearly done. The kids have been busy organising their cabins and developing their team building skills in a range of activities including orienteering, archery, bushwalking and team challenges. Keep an eye out for further updates tomorrow.

02.01.2022 As part of our working in an office preparation we are learning about how to work in a team, how to operate with sustainability in mind, and how to use office equipment getting ready for life after school.
