25.01.2022 Missionary Speakers 2013 Lindsay & Lea Nicholls Lindsay and Lea Nicholls have had the privilege of serving the Lord Jesus Christ for nearly 40 years serving in mostly cross cultural situations. They have three adult sons, two of whom are married and they have three beautiful grandchildren.... Living in Australia ,Cambodia, Ethiopia and Haiti and serving longer term with World Vision, SIM Int and Campus Crusade for Christ has given them a unique understanding of other cultures. Since late 1996 , they worked with JESUS Gift to the Nation and motivated and encouraged evangelists in sharing the JESUS DVD in up to 130 languages starting amongst Dandenong scores of cultures. Our website www.mylanguage.net.au gives newcomers to Australia the opportunity to read the bible or see JESUS in their own language. Our small organization Soul Rest ( Matthew 11 v 28 ) reaches out with the Gospel message to the broken, hurting and disillusioned. We also challenge followers of Jesus to focus on TRUTH, ( John 8 v 32 ) renounce any lies they are believing, then daily maintain their walk of freedom . It is a joy to gradually witness Isaiah 61 v 1-4 and Luke 4 v 18 and 19 being worked out in peoples lives. The Convention Committee are supportive of Lea and Lindsay’s helpful insights and resources. Lindsay has just purchased a new wet suit and supports the Cats. Peter & Raewyn Brook Peter & Raewyn Brook with their three boys Ryan, Samuel and Eric have been ministering in Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe since 2001. Peter's ministry has been in vernacular literacy, scripture teaching, church relations and this past year with indigenous arts. Raewyn initiated a multi grade, multi-mission school cooperative which she has been coordinating and teaching. With the return of all the students to their respective countries in July 2012 Raewyn's focus had more recently been on homeschooling and homemaking. They returned to Australia in November 2012, and plan to be here until late July 2013.

22.01.2022 We regretfully announce that the 2020 Wimmera Easter Convention is Cancelled. In light of government warnings and our partnerships with local community groups and venues and Esa Ministries the best way for us honour and serve is to cancel the convention. Please pray with us for our nation and the world regarding the coronavirus. May you continue to share and celebrate Jesuss love and sacrifice with your families this Easter. As Jesuss himself said "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have life to the full" John 10:10
22.01.2022 We have 3 things that were left behind at Brim teen camp. If you recognise any of these please call Hugh Keam 0437016454 (the pillow looks grey in photo, it is actually blue)
22.01.2022 Ever wondered what happened to this year's Missionary Offering? The $1339.10 given was split evenly to contribute to the work of the Barnabus Fund, Leprosy Mission and Prison Fellowship. Since then, other financial contributions have also been made to Wycliffe Bible Translators and Teen Challenge. The WEC Council would like to acknowledge the recent passing of Mr. Aubrey Bish who was a valued life member. We are thankful for the godly input Mr. Bish contributed over many years to what was previously known as the Wimmera Victorious Life Convention. Our sympathy and love go to Malcolm, Rhonda, Philip, Helen, Judith and family.

17.01.2022 Introducing Andrew Reid, our Main Speaker for the 2018 Convention... 'Andrew was born to medical missionary parents in Vanuatu. After rejecting Christ in his teen years he was dramatically converted within six weeks of finishing school and two years later began theological training at Moore College. In the last year of College he married Heather and they have two adult sons and six grandchildren. Since graduating Andrew has worked in three States of Australia as a staffworker... then national director of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students, lead pastor of two Anglican churches (one in Perth, one in Melbourne), a church planter in Perth, and a lecturer in Old Testament, Biblical Interpretation and Hebrew at Ridley College in Melbourne. Andrew is now the Principal of the Evangelical Theological College of Asia (Singapore). He has written a variety of books on Old Testament and biblical interpretation. Andrew and Heather love living in Singapore but have two major regrets: (1) the distance from children and grandchildren; and (2) no longer being able to explore as much of Australia as possible!' 15.01.2022 Introducing Toby McIntosh, our 2018 Youth Speaker... Toby lives in Warrnambool serving in the local Presy church with his wife Michelle and their 4 daughters. Toby grew up in a loving and supportive atheistic family in Macedon. Whilst at Uni studying Ag Science Toby met a Christian bloke called Mark from Huntly. After many discussions about why he didn’t believe in God, Toby became a Christian. Toby worked as a fertiliser agronomist in the West Wimmera for 4 years, spendi...ng his days drinking coffee with farmers. During this time he realised the need for country churches for pastors, so trained to become a minister. During his training Toby and Michelle met and married and they have been part of the Warrnambool Presy church since 2010. Toby and Michelle served as leaders in the teen and young adult camps of the Wimmera Easter Convention over 10 years ago and they are so excited to spend this Easter in Warracknabeal. Toby’s passions including telling people about Jesus, making his girls laugh and driving his 1965 Valiant. See more

In the Middle East, Prue’s nursing experience equipped her to work in health, education and community development projects among those living in poverty, suffering discrimination or displaced by war and social unrest. Peter established a project to train and employ people who are hearing impaired and he managed aspects of a media organisation there, while in Australia he spent 5 years as a state missions mobiliser and another 5 years as Interserve’s National Director. 10.01.2022 Dear friends, I can’t wait for Easter to roll around as I think we have a great theme for our upcoming convention. Who is God? I wonder how you answer that question? I could start with the creator of this universe, Genesis Chapter 1 Verse 1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, others might say he is a God of love, and some a sovereign God. These are all true, often we like to pick the parts we want God to be rather than understanding completely who he... is. I heard a pastor say, the more we know about God the more we can worship God, which made a lot of sense to me. It is my prayer you would would want to find out more about God and would choose to do this by joining us this Easter where we can worship God together. Yours sincerely, Wimmera Easter Convention President
